Steve Blake Discussion: Out Indefinitely (p. 102)

i already forgot about that guy with the big ears...so glad to have Blake in the mix...i can see him daggering teams all year and in the playoffs

Ironically Ear Jordan's team is 2-0 right now as well. They've managed 1/6th of their win total from last year in just two games.

I have no ill will towards Jordan, and continue to wish him well....and I think him leaving for NJ and the Lakers replacing him with Blake is a win-win for all parties concerned.

This is one thing I hate about the +/- stat. If all things were equal, then it would be effective in measuring a player's impact on the game, but obviously things aren't equal, as Fish plays against the starters more time than not, while Blake is more likely to be matched with another team's second unit.

Blake's shot is one of the most odd things I've ever seen. It's right up there with Marion's and Noah's shot, except his is extremely reliable. I've never seen that before. I don't know who told him how to shoot like that, but I guess he should be coaching other kids too.

I agree with everything you said, but I just want to point out that Goran Dragic shot lights out (6-of-9, 15 points) and better than Steve Nash (3-of-9, 8 points) the last game. But you are right that the +/- stats are not equal.

God I love this guy, and so happy when we signed him. To think we are only paying him 4 mil per year. What a deal.

^he isn't really worth more than that. He is a role player that fits our style perfectly but at the end of the day he is still just a somewhat inconsistent role player.

^All role-players are "somewhat inconsistent" unless they are strictly hustle players. That's why they are role players. I do agree that he's worth the 4 million bucks he's being paid.

Oh man... Old movie references... Teen Wolf's shot was like watching my 5 year old nephew trying to play basketball. I don't even count that.

Marion's is the worst I've seen ever though. There was never a coach that he played for that sat him down and said," Shawn, you have great shooting form." Never. I refuse to believe that.

This guy is awesome.

Make's great decisions and takes great shots. He's got Jordan and Sasha beat.

Very solid PG he incorporated to the tri real quick.

You know what, one thing that doesn't get enough love for Stevie is his defense. More often than not, he's been able to keep his defensive assignments in front of him,sliding his feet and moving lateral with great angles and speed, as opposed to the matador defense we've been unfortunately subjected to for quite some time now at the PG spot.

So far, he's lived up to everything we hoped he would be when we signed him, and then some!

Who´s Farmar? Errr... yeah, the guy who went to be a starter and now is warming the Net´s bench. Blake meanwhile is 12-23 in 3s (52.2% !!)

My heart soars thinking about how this guy leads the bench. Such a difference from Farmar. The intangibles of this team are simply amazing.

Didn't have HUGE stats, but he was great out there. A real leader on the bench.
