Yeah, but the only 3 pointer that we remember is the one he misses in the corner to win the game when Metta found him wide open after Westbrook made a defensive mistake

I thought Blake played pretty well tonight by his standards. Unfortunately his standards are not acceptable for a starting PG.

He looked a LOT better with the starters than with the bench unit. He put up 7/3/3 and 2 steals shooting 3/4 from the field.

One thing that I've noticed that is a positive is that he is attacking the basket fairly well by his standards. He's getting there, but his passes once he gets there don't put players in scoring situations.

Either way, he played very well.

I thought he played pretty well...there was even a sequence when he asked for the ball back from Dwight and nailed an open three. I was floored.

No, but really...he's a better defender than Nash (not saying much), and can play the same role in the offense that Nash was asked to play.

Basically, if you are going to criminally underutilize Nash, you might as well play Blake, because he can give you the same production and provide at least a little bit more defensive resistance against against the opposing lead guard.

He played 27 minutes, 7 minutes, 3 points, 3 assists 3/4 shooting. He should be attempting more shots and contributing more on offensinve end. SEVERAL times he dribbles the ball around and it ends up with Kobes hands with the shot clock winding down hence the turnovers.

and besides that stat line of Blake is deceiving. He made 2 baskets and and an assist in the last 3mins 30 secs of the game and the Lakers were trailng by 14, the game was decided by then

He hit that one three off that Dwight post move other than that Steve did nothing. Typical Blake

Get two stops and convert and you're down by 4 with 30 seconds or so to go. I'm not sure how the game was already decided at that point.

He played well, give him credit.

Blake played well and it was a breath of fresh air seeing him in there when Nash was hurt.

It was a change of pace as Blake is much more active than Steve.

point is why did it take so long to do anything? Why wait till the 3.30 mark? If you remove the last 3.30 minute of the game he would've played nearly 25 minutes with signficant portion next to the starters and nothing notable other than that 3 pointer from Dwight's pass

Throughout the game, he did the same things that hurt us last year, turning down semi open shots, he was coming off multiple Dwight screens and going East to West instead of attacking the basket and putting pressure on defense. He's someone who doesn't force the issue and hence not prone to make mistakes but his play on the court is like going 4 on 5 and its leading to us taking bad shots/turnovers and putting pressure on Kobe mainly since hes the best option with the shot clock winding down.

And besides we weren't getting many stops to begin with so we the chances of us getting multiple stops in the last 3.30 were quite low

Good luck to him tomorrow, Chris Paul and Eric Bledsoe are gonna tear him a new one.

I know I'm not alone when I say he's penetrated more in the last two games then I think he did the entirety of last season. Heck, he may have as many trips in the lane these last two games as Steve Nash has.

Blake has in fact been very aggressive. He's gotten to the basket much more. He's still hesitating a little bit on his shots, but not nearly as badly as last season. Yesterday he played just fine in his role.

You keep trying to diminish the guy's effort at the end of the game. We had a chance to win that game late. No, we weren't getting stops but we should have. We actually had an opportunity to somehow still win that game and at least some of that is on Blake and his good play yesterday.

We tear the dude apart when he does poorly. He gets 3-4 pages added onto his thread. But when he does well we want to qualify it like it's unimportant? Why not just give the man his credit? He played well and he gave us a chance to win late.

I dont think he played well yesterday to be honest. He didnt make many mistakes. It was a typical Steve Blake game where his impact on the game is minimal on offense and defense. Hes doesnt need to attack the basket I understand his limitations but attempt to shoot when hes semi open thats what drives me nuts.
