In his Lakers tenure, Blake has never been a starter in a PG-dominant offensive system.

the truth is the following...Blake can't shoot consistently, can't drive, can't score, can't defend, doesn't have speed, athleticism, strength or leaping ability...there is nothing to work with, regardless of the system.
When has Blake ever shown signs of anything great that you want to see that particular ability to get unleashed? I really can't remember anything. Even guys like Jordan Farmar etc. showed glimpses of their abilities even while playing in the triangle. Blake has never ever shown anything. He has also never ever been a starter for any team for an extended period of time. A journey man that has struggled with consistency for his entire career.
A player that has career averages of 6.9 points and 3.9 assists, in 25 mpg and on 40% shooting. Those are raw facts and they suggest that he sucks. Most backups in the NBA easily give you those numbers when playing 25 mpg. Hell, even Darius Morris might give you that along with better defense and he is already considered dreadful offensively.

If he's not totally rusty, that's exactly what's going to happen.

Steve Blake is recovering from abdominal surgery and now he has another issue to deal with. According to The Orange County Register, the point guard is feeling pain in a muscle close to his groin and that is limiting his movement.
"We're in a holding pattern now,"said Lakers' team doctor Steve Lombardo. "Hypothetically, if he doesn't get better ... (doctors) will access whether anything further needs to be done to this other muscle that was a lesser part of the problem when it began."
According to the report, Blake will meet with a hernia specialist soon to determine a proper remedy for the pain. There remains no timeline for his return to the active roster.

Just how worthless has this signing been? There is ALWAYS something going on with him. Always.
