Steve Blake Discussion: Out Indefinitely (p. 102)

well my first kneejerk reaction was gonna be to post "who cares"

but steve blake back means less morris. and that is something to be thankful for.

Im slightly excited for Blake's return lol only because we're adding one more 3 point shooter to the roster

Have a feeling we might see Duhon/Blake/Meeks in the 2nd unit when Pau/Dwight are on the court in the 2nd Q

We seriously have no reason to be happy about his return other than it's good that a human being is feeling healthy.

The only thing I can hope for is that he's healthy enough to play the point more effectively than Duhon who is pretty ineffective.

I think he'll do a better job than Duhon though so, I'm okay with him returning.

I can't wait til this thread gets moved to NBA discussion.

Say what you want about Blake.

His return improves our current backcourt.

He is better than Morris and Duhan. Why are you guys mad?

Yeah, less Duhon is a plus.

Granted, it'll take a little while for Blake to get in game shape...but Duhon is an absolute mess IMO, so I'm more than willing to wait.

No...don't get me wrong, Morris shouldn't get any PT from here on out (unless his defense becomes mandatory if our other guards decide not to play it).

But Duhon should be relegated to 3rd string, at best, and he should never see the court unless it's a blowout.

Seeing that he will return makes me happy. Don't get me wrong, he's not good, but at least better than what we have (Morris/Duhon)

Blake isn't any better than Duhon and Morris he is slightly better than, mainly because Blake knows he sucks, Morris hasn't figured that out yet.

He should provide slightly better defense than Duhon but that's about it. Shooting will be a push if we're lucky and assists will probably actually get worse.

Curious to see wtf Antoni likes so much about Blake. Lord knows I haven't seen it.

Blake is not a better scorer or defender than Morris. But at least he might bring less TO that's the big difference. If he can make 1 or 2 3s a game that would be wonderful.

Big whoop... He will be rusty like hell, so I doubt he is any upgrade over Duhon or Morris at this point as bad as those 2...

He was mostly useless before, that won't change anytime soon...

Can he be Fisher 2001 ? Starting late in the season but being a huge factor to Lakers championship

duhon is so bad that i'm really looking forward to blake's return.

im glad hes coming back. he will pretty much bring the same production that duhon or morris brings maybe a little more but also brings that scrappy d and "not gunna back down" mentality. he plays hard and although shots may not fall or gets staggered screened like 3 times in a row but he never gives up. he can hit the 3 and guys will slag off of him if kobe continues to play the facilitator role he has been and looks to attack on post ups too. that balance is keep and past 2 games he done it perfectly. blake with him when nash gets rest will be good.

he may be rusty but i think a hornets game is a better game than any to start and get the rust off.

It remains to be seen how his conditioning is but I'm certain once he gets in game shape he'll provide more than Duhon or Morris have.
