Apparently he stepped on a spike strip and will be out for 3 weeks.

How the eff do you step on a spike strip?

Instead of bad luck Brian, there should be a bad luck Steve....

Walks bare foot for the first time, steps on spike strip.

Jeff Zillgitt @JeffZillgitt
Lakers G Steve Blake out three weeks; sustained a puncture wound to left foot after steppping on a spike strip in a parking lot, per LAL.

Mike Bresnahan @Mike_Bresnahan
Steve Blake is out at least 3 weeks after stepping on a spike strip in a parking lot and sustaining a puncture wound in his left foot.

Yup that is exactly what happened to him. Hopefully Duhon will step up during his absence.

Sorry but that's kind of ridiculous... At least we've got Duhon and Morris. I say that seriously because the drop off in production and talent isn't astronomical between those 3.

IMO this is a good thing.

Hopefully DJO, Morris, Gl0ck, or Duhon can show they are a capable backup if needed down the stretch.

smh...

Well, at least we'll get to see what Duhon can provide. If not, lets go after a REAL backup PG.

No Morris, no Goudelock, no Blake, no Duhon.

How do you step on a spike strip? But then again we've had players get weird injuries like this before. Artest supposedly fell down the stairs and Kobe supposedly cut his hand while moving boxes.

Ferguson, we hear you.

No biggie, we still have Duhon.

^ I've heard of people falling down stairs and cutting their hands, I've never heard of someone injuring themselves on a parking lot strip. You'd have to hit it at just the right angle and what are you doing walking on one anyways? Leave it to Steve Walton-Blake to find a way to get chicken pox at nearly 30 years old or get injured by something no one ever gets injured by.

As far as injury news this ranks a solid "oh no" from Bruce at best

Explain to me how one of our rotation players going down with an injury is actually a good thing? :man3:

Steve Blake sucks, but sadly, he's still the second best point guard on the roster. What next, Dwight Howard's injury being a good thing so Sacre can show us what he's got?

Only three weeks? That means he should be back for the season opener on October 30. Non issue.

Goudelock time

Steve just takes an eternity to be productive after getting injured/sick/whatever. I'd just give the backup PG duties to Goudelock but this is Mike Brown we're talking about so he'll just give an extended rope to Duhon and Morris before he goes to Glock

Duhon was hoping on taking the fat paycheck without doing anything... ie. Luke-ing it.

Nope, that's not going to work. You'll have to play the backup now. :man13:

I say bring on Barbosa. This injury should force him into retirement. I've never seen anyone come back from a spike strip in the foot.

Have you ever seen a basketball player who was injured by stepping on a spike strip? :man3:
