You can't just dismiss the other aspects of the game. Nash played very well offensively, but very little was asked of him and outside of the offensive output he had little impact on the game.

Russell had something like 3 offensive rebounds didn't he? That's your PG getting HUGE second chance opportunities for a great offensive team. He also distributed nicely as well, often getting into the paint and finding someone like Ibaka or Perkins for a basket.

That's the Westbrook you want to be playing against; a volume shooter who was unable to drive into the paint continuously for layups. If Lakers can keep him doing that, it's a higher chance of winning.

Nash, well, he just picks his spots and takes calculated shots that have a high probability of going in :man12:

I just realized that Nash, in his dual role as a playmaker/scorer, gives us over 15 ppg while shooting 50%+.

Think about that for a second. This is a guard -- almost 39-year old -- we're talking about. This is why I always wanted him to shoot more. I think he's even shooting the 3 around 53%. Unbelievable. He usually hits 2 a game now.

Yeah.
His 3 to pretty much seal the game off the pass from Clark.. I was completely sure it was going in.

He is doing what I praised him for when he was on the Suns. I put his ice cold bloodedness on the level with Kobe. There have been 3 opponents that I never wanted to see shoot a three against us Steve Nash, Ray Allen and Reggie Miller.

Love the guy and glad he is being aggressive :jam2:

PLEASE SHOOT MORE. Taking just 5-6 shots a game is unacceptable, hes getting plenty of open looks just shoot the damn ball. Especially on the road we need it, mental midgets like Pau and Dwight dont need the ball in their hands late in the shot clock Steve.

Nash scoring with Kobe & Pau in playmaker mode is deadly.

It's a beautiful thing. Think about it. With the spacing we are getting now playing to our big man strengths inside out with P&R mixed in and cutters mixed in, the passes flying around the perimeter, Kobe going on the block and directing from there OR when Nash is given the quick pass to either drill those open shots at elite, clutch, high % efficiency OR go vintage "Nash" with room to get into the paint and do his thing. :man4: :man4: 2 guys interchangeably effing with the defense like that!!! This is what we all expected should happen with the talent we had on this squad.

Cept for two stubborn coaches hell bent to fit square pieces into round holes. Dan must really be conflicted with his "precious" (as Sky used to call Phil's Triangle) being tossed on the scrap heap. Is it Showtime as he wanted to bring back and the Busses wanted. NO. But damn, the options and the style of play now has WIN and FUN (to watch) written all over it.

^ Give credit to D'Antoni for scrapping his plan too, that couldn't have been easy. Everyone on the team was stubborn and suddenly everyone on the team is sacrificing. :man10:

Steve was incredible down the stretch as always. He never lets the moment get to him and he just makes fantastic decisions. When everyone on this team is playing confidently and within the team, we're so damn dangerous.

Offense is simply beautiful to watch. Nash might not have the assists anymore, with the emergence of Kobe as dominating the ball again as well as our ball movement but he has played really well.

It's beautiful when Kobe is doubled on the strong side and the ball gets swung to Nash on the weak side, allowing Nash to then be the play-maker while the defense is still in scramble mode. It's game over for the defense as soon as Nash gets the ball on the weak side, even though the shot is still sometimes 2-3 passes away.

It's insane the kind of ball/man movement we have right now. When teams are scrambling, we're just moving and picking and eating up defenses.

Another plus is that with all the passes the refs get lost too which means we get away with a lot of 3 second violations. :man10:

Why Nash left Suns for the Lakers, for the championship right ?

Nash must be regretting now, he must be thinking now why he wants to be in this mess.

Of everyone on this team I feel bad for Nash most of all, he signed up for a chance at a championship or two, instead he might miss the playoffs, but you won't hear him complain because he's a good dude. Oh well, could have been just as bad in Toronto, but then again he could have gone to NY, ouch.

Nash had an imprint like Barry said, he killed the team in the first half when he tried to run the O those 7 straight trips where Kobe didnt touch it. Oh and Dragic schooled him too. He has to stay off the damn ball because he truly hurts us when he tries to run the O this year

And no way in hell I feel sorry for him. He got everything without a sacrifice. NY like media, Toronto like money, location close to his kids, his coach, and it was him who chose to extend with sawrver who was openly selling picks and talent years ago because of dollar signs ... He's a bust and belongs on the trade block like Pau because he literally makes the job of both one and Dwight harder over easier on both ends

He wasn't hitting shots and for some reason we decided to let him run the show when he's proven he can't exactly do that anymore or at least not with this squad.

Hopefully we don't try to get away from our gameplan again. ^^ is right. There was that massive gap when Nash was controlling and Kobe didn't even see the ball.

It doesnt seem like nash has that "first step" speed to beat his man off the dribble and draw the double, or even stress the P&R defense. Thats the biggest reason we saw so much success with Kobe initiating the offense. He can still break down the D, cause doubles, ect.

People are just guarding Nash straight up and stopping him. And when you have a center who cant establish post position any other way than the P&R (which Nash and Dwight still havent been able to figure out) it makes things rough.
