Steve Nash Discussion: Retiring; Lakers Disabled Exception

I have been saying (well before he got here) that Nash is one of my favorite NBA players. The dude has the Kobe-Ice in his veins. He is a baller and one of the greatest PG's to every play this game. It isn't suprising that we see his magic at work when our guys stopped standing and watching the game like they bought tickets. Thanks to Kobe the other boys have started moving. Now, we see the magic of Nash. That behind the back drop down pass that Pau fumbled was old school pretty. We need to get him his ring..THIS YEAR!

This guy has all of Derek Fisher's clutch gene and can do everything else that great PG's do... awesome. Simply awesome. Also-

He looked very aggressive trying to score the ball, very nice to see. The pick and roll and pick and pop with Jamison or Clark being the screener is working well. Pau and Dwight are the problems theyre not converting that little bunny shot from 5 to 8 feet in the middle of hte paint and neither are knocing down the open 15 footer (Especially Pau). We saw it early in the season even Sacre was converting these passes from Nash on screen & roll situations. Im glad we gave another team a taste of their own medicine in torturing the screen action worked for a foul and 2 huge baskets from Nash's assists

That was unreal. Never seen that from him, it was pretty far out from the hoop, too. And let's not forget the righty hook in the face of 7 foot Lopez. That was sick.

I am so happy to have Nash on the Lakers, even at his advanced age. Love this guy's competitiveness and his game.

He seriously looked like 35 year old Nash instead of 39 year old Nash. :man10:

Some really aggressive play from him... Deron came out swinging and in the end Nash answered back and then some. Just such a great game.

He finally realized that he needs to score some more. And he's perfectly capable of it. His repertoire of moves is pretty amazing. Those hooks... :man4:

Another awesome shot he made was when he drove into the lane, was met by Lopez, seemed like he was trapped, but got his body into him and flipped in a shot right over him and made it look easy.

He was great vs. the Nets...and after Clark nailed that shot Kobe was waiting for Nash and gave him his nicest compliment by calling him a mofo. :man10:

That's why it's important to have some real skills so you don't depend on speed and athleticism your whole life. He is still one of the better PGs in the league. You have combo guards like Westbrook and Rose, who are better. Then you have PGs like Rondo, CP3, Deron, Parker.... Nash can still hang with most of them. Which is scary impressive for a 39-year old player.

Name another PG in the league right now that can pull of right and left hook shots over 7 foot players....

I can only think of one and that is Steve-Kareem-Abdul-Nash......or Mini-Kareem for short.

Yeah but Nash's left hand >>> Parker's.
And I've never seen him bust out skyhooks either

He's definitely coming around and now with Pau/Dwight out he will have to take more of an offensive load.

I won't argue that. Like I said I have been touting Nash for years. I just think Parker is underrated with his touch in the paint as well.

Parker is underrated in a lot of aspects ... he's the most consistent PG in the game for some years imo ... sure he's less flashy than a CP3 or Rondo and his "highs" are less impressive than these two but he gets it done on a nightly basis and is a proven winner

I agree on Parker being underrated. The Spurs have won 11 in a row and Parker has been playing out of his mind, yet there's relatively little mention/attention to that from the media.
I consider him one of the contenders for the MVP award, but I don't see the media voting for him.

Still, Parker's a VERY good PG, and truly is underrated. He's shooting like 60% from the field during this win streak btw.
