Nash's three point shooting would legitimately provide the Lakers the outside threat they so desperately need. Nash is one of the premier shooters in the league ... absolutely flawless form!

I'm not so sure he'd be a great fit.... he's used to having the ball in his hands almost all the time..... Kobe is as well.... Nash's best asset is how he runs the pick and roll.... that relegates Kobe to a spot up shooter.... Not sure Nash has ever played with dominate players in the post and wing....

The other end of the floor would take a step backwards that much is given..... and after watching Sessions that's hard to say....

For nearly 12 million a year I'd rather get younger and more athletic.... not older and less so....

First, if Nash came to the Lakers he wouldn't be getting anywhere close to $12MM.

Second, with Mike Brown at the helm we are primarily a pick and roll team ... like you stated that is Nash's best asset.

Third, Nash would be the one guy that would have the respect of Kobe and could do what Fisher did, i.e., ignore Kobe at times. With Nash primarily handling the ball, Kobe can get to his sweet spots. Plus, Nash can create his own shot and penetrate the defense. Kobe won't have to bail out the offense with 8 secs left on the shot clock.

I'd get Nash / D12....

Then trade Pau for pieces (athletic/shooters/defenders) that can run with Nash, space the floor for D12 and keep the hounds off Kobe...

Do all that and you have Nash dissecting, shooters keeping the doubles off people and Kobe/D12 for the most part having one on one opportunities vs. the defense.

I think that is greater than having Gasol and limiting the ability of Nash to get into the dirty areas with a twin tower lineup.

That works better for pick and roll as well. Not so much clogging the paint.

if we're trading away bynum we need to get a lot more back than just Nash, Gortat and Frye let alone trading away Sessions too.

No way would I ever entertain that deal

Reports are that he's got 3/36 on the table from Toronto...... We'd have to get pretty close to overcome that offer I'm afraid.... At least 3/30 I'd think.... We'd have to trade Pau I'd think in the deal to make it work....

very few athletes ever leave big money on the table......

If my math is accurate, using the $8.9 million Odom trade exception as the year one salary, the Lakers could offer Nash a three-year deal worth $28,702,500.

Regarding Nash-to-Lakers, I'd be surprised if Phoenix would be too eager to cooperate in a sign & trade with their Pacific Division rivals.

Robert Sarver would get $9 million in cash with a sign-and-trade using that traded player exception.

Getting Gortat/Frye puts Pau back in the post. Pau has scored more points in the post in 2012 than Bynum or Howard has. Its addition by subtraction
And Gortat aint no slouch either. 32 mins a gm 15/10 Frye is a 39% Three point shooter in his career

Pau + future picks for Nash (S&T) & Frye?

The basketball IQ on this team would be unreal if we were able to get Nash, and end up keeping Gasol. I'd be interested to see Kobe + Nash + Gasol out there at the same time, as long as Kobe isn't in ISO'd all of the time.

I would think the Lakers would send Sessions and Ebanks to Phoenix. It would just be two separate deals to make it work under the salary cap.

Here we go!

Bynum/Artest for Howard/Richardson
Sessions/McRoberts for Nash
Gasol for Iguodala/Vucevic
Re-sign Hill and sign Jamison with the mini-MLE

Nash/Blake/Morris
Bryant/Richardson/Gouelock/Odom
Iguodala/Ebanks/Eyenga
Jamison/Hill
Howard/Vucevic

Steve Blake is the new Luke Walton.. I'd rather have someone play out of position than have him as our backup.. Just dump him to Portland for a future 2nd & give Morris a shot.. Anything is better than Blake,,

Besides Blake being on it, the roster looks like a contender.. I'd much rather get Lou Williams or Thad or Hawes with Iggy than Vucevic though..
