he needs to have the ball more and run pick and roll. during the lag game he kind of leaned towards not wanting to do too much pnr bc it would take away from learning the Princeton. I think Nash pnr should be the biggest part of our offense and if the opponent game plans for it than you have Princeton ball movement and sets to fall back onto.

Nash needs to be more assertive on pnr and not worry about players learning Princeton offense bc pnr will need to b apart of it anyways so why not do it all. we could win games just on pnr while we're still learning Princeton. 2n half we weren't even running the Princeton offense we were just feeding the post and sanding around watching so why not run pnr.

Dwight isn't Dwight yet but 50% Dwight is still better than anyone so run it. also Pau and Kobe too. Saw some good passes leading to layup a for Kobe so I think Nash needs to be the vet and leader he is and show guys that they have pnr in their back packet every trip down the floor so don't get frustrated with the Princeton...guys wi get it eventually and until then they can still win games. prob would build more chemistry too and trust in each other. plus offense can dictate how hard they play on d.

Nash isn't doing pnr on purpose but I think he'll figure out he's got to do it anyways. Princeton will be flowing eventually. pnr is ready now.

At least he knows he should probably be more assertive. Yes, practice your new offense, try to run it. But play P&R as well, mix it up. Build the lead with some nice, easy plays, then continue with 2-3 different Princeton sets etc. I know, easier said then done, even for a legend like Nash; but he recognizes this, so maybe we'll see a different Steve tonight. And by that, I don't mean Blake.

Princeton should be reserved for the bench for now. Give the keys to the Ferrari to STEVE!!!

not yet. the Pick and roll will be there whenever we want it. now is the time to master the princeton and understand when it's most effective so that later in the season it's second nature and we can be varied by running Pick and rolls, princeton, and some triangle sets and do so seamlessly

I see the point in running the Princeton only and trying to figure it out until its fluid. but I think Nash should still do the pnr as it is part of the Princeton for us. just bc he can get it whenever doesn't mean he shouldn't use it at all. I feel if we run pnr defenses will have to react and thus open things up even more for the Princeton ball movement.

well thats the issue. if he reverts to whats comfortable there will never be improvement with the princeton. what you speak of, the idea of alternating between PnR and princeton is the goal.

Nash admitted he's still making a conscious effort not to over-rely on what he already knows in favor of using this time to cram in the new stuff.

Nash understands that to win you have to be multiple. have to be varied. running PnR every game and winning a bunch of games is useless because in the playoffs PnR isn't the same. not nearly as effective and defenses tighten up with more rest in between games. you have to have a varied arsenal.

right now it's early. the princeton is just part of the weapon. not the whole weapon. but right now the PnR is the weapon everyone has down. the Princeton isn't. once they get that down you'll probably see a more varied offense. Nash himself understands that reverting to PnR nash ball is just going to stall the growth of the team

I hope the injury is just a shin contusion and nothing worse. The way his knee twisted looked really painful, and the fact that he couldn't play doesn't help either. If it is a shin contusion it should only take a week or two to completely heal, so that's a silver lining I suppose.

Didn't we get Malone at the end of his career only to have him get injured?..... God I hope this isn't a repeat......

That said... it was kind of hard to see what the problem was other than he was in pain.
