The reason we need to bring back Shannon.

Blake / Farmar
Meeks / Henry
Young / Johnson

Blake and Meeks getting starters minutes, is not something I want to see. Nash sits out back to backs, Blake gets his yearly injury and suddenly the backcourt isn't so full anymore.

I'm so looking forward to not having our starting PG on the 2nd game of back to backs all season due to old age. :man11: That's fine for the Spurs who are playing for June, but for us it just sucks.

More time for Farmar.

At this point, he's near useless. I mean c'mon, the season is just starting and dude's too old to play a 2nd game in a row?

It's honestly sad and a shame to me, this isn't how I wanted to see Nash go out, and I do believe this is his last season.

This is a good decision; he hasn't looked that effective out there when he's played; and honestly, I like the matchup with Jordan on Curry a lot better than Nash. We'll automatically get quicker, more athletic, and better defensively.

As another poster noted, though, this is another reason why you bring Shannon Brown; he'll provide a little more depth plus provide his athleticism with a 2nd unit that has the potential to really be our spark plug this season.

I don't mind Nash sitting out games. We have some young guns that can play more minutes. We need Nash for late in the season. I don't think he will play much longer cause his body is just breaking down. I'd like to see the coaching staff manage Kobe, Nash and Pau's minutes better this year
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

He can sit ... both Blake and Farmar will have a better season ..

Nash not playing is a good news for us ( assuming Blake and Farmar are healthy) ... especially against top point guards

I still think Nash should be the back up point guard. With fewer minutes against the top point guards he could still be very effective.

It's really more of a golden lining. Farmar is our best PG right now.

Agreed.. I'd rather have him playing big minutes at PG than Nash.. Hopefully Blake breaks down too so they finally replace him.

Very True. I'd be excited to see what Farmar can do in extended minutes, but he really needs to run with an athletic unit to bring the best out of him.

Jason Kidd will do same thing with Keving Garnet, he will also sit out some back2backs, this is fine with me, good thing is that we have Farmar.

Nash is hurt, Pau is on the block and Wes Johnson will probably start.

We might be entering tank mode... and honestly, I'm not opposed to it.

Rest up, Kobe :man12:

Why not give him at least 10-15 minutes? Id be okay with this

Farmar - 33 minutes
Blake - 5 minutes
Nash - 10 minutes

Personally I think Farmar is starting PG material at this stage in his career.

Nothing against Nash, but him coming here never felt right.

When we got him, I thought it was a questionable move...I was concerned about his age, and I was concerned about his ability to defend at the PG position. Once we traded for Dwight though, people thought that Dwight's defense would make up for Nash's defensive weaknesses.

It's just always felt to me that he's not supposed to be a Laker. Nevertheless, I hope he gives us something in the minutes he does play for us.

Otherwise, I am look for Jordan to take that next leap forward in his career and finally become the Lakers new starting point guard.

Nash may wind up being a bigger bust than Payton. What a waste of salary cap space.
