Did he? How many pts did he have?

Zero. He's got an NBA body and he's fast, but he looked out of control a lot.

I'm not happy with CDR, but I'm pretty okay with Selby. I liked his reactions and I liked the way he had a feel for the game. You're right, he was out of control a lot, but he used his athleticism well and he had good instincts.

CDR just looked like he didn't want to play much.

If anything I like Selby's size, speed, and defensive potential. On offense he looked out of control, on defense he was more impressive. Can't see him making the team or anything but I guess in cost cutting season you never know.

Well if we accepted Morris for his defense and kept him despite his offense....

Selby can't be any worse right? I agree he was out of control on offense most of the time, but it seemed to me that he still had a recognition of what was going on, he just tried to force things anyway. I don't know. I at least value that athleticism for a team that's got Nash, Kobe, Gasol, and Kaman on it. :man10:

The last thing we need is 4 PG's on the roster again.

Selby is much more of a combo guard. And I'm 95% sure that we're moving Blake once Farmar's contract goes through...

maybe 93%...

We're talking about Mike 'Antoni here though, he can turn 4 PG's into 2 PG's, a SG and a SF like magic. :man12:

The last thing we need is another 6'2 PG playing SG. We need players that actually play that position. What's wrong with getting a SF to play SF and a SG to play SG?

there is a lot wrong with it. i mean it would be going against the grain to get players to play their true positions

well at least that's what i've been led to believe the last 2 seasons

having said that i'd like to have selby stay as our 3rd PG and blake traded for a wing. in reality he's a 22 year old athlete who doesn't panic (like morris) and is capable of playing point.

play your cards right with him and he's a legitimate backup PG in a couple years

so i think you keep him because as of right now there isn't a person on our roster like him, he's cheap and he gives us a defensive PG who isn't half stupid like morris

It's ok. We'll just start 5 pgs and outrun everyone

The third string guard on the team should be a combo guard in my opinion. Someone who can fill in for either position if/when the going gets tough and injuries hit.

^ I'd take Selby as the 3rd PG any day (especially when we just saw Morris and Duhon play).
He's not doing well so far this SL, but last SL he actually won co-MVP with Lillard. He's got potential, just needs to get his ish together.

holy crap i didn't even realize the Lakers had Selby on their Summer Camp roster! This dude should have been a sure fire first round pick but he slipped all the way to the second round where I was HOPING the Lakers would get him but I think Memphis took him before us. I would love to have a guy like him as our 3rd PG...once we trade Blake I think we should keep him. Still very young and lots of room to improve...this is the route we have to go i think.

I agree with combo guard statement. I just don't like having 4 PGs on the roster and no SF. If we traded Blake for a true SF, I could live with him as the 3rd PG.

Oh okay, then yeah I agree.

Selby making the team in my mind was all predicated on Blake being moved when Farmar inks his actual contract.

I looked through every depth chart. I only see ONE trade where Blake could get moved
1 - to a team needing a backup, not a 3rd PG
2 - to a team who didn't draft a PG for minutes
3 - to a team with a SF or Combo F available due to signings, trades or draft
4 - who is a player making between 3.6 and 5.0
5 - who is on a 1 year deal to not impact '14 space

In particular #1, #2 and #3 (their rationale to take on Blake)
and #4 and #5 (LA's rationale) were critical:
Toronto
Linus Kleiza 4.6
6'8 245 28yo

What is the contract situation for players on the roster of a Summer league team of the Professional club? Say Selby for instance. Actually same question for the D league team. Can another team just offer any of these guys a contract if they want at any time, both Summer and D league teams, or do they first have to clear and maybe work something out with the "parent" club's front office?

I'm pretty sure Blake is getting traded once farmar is here. Why else bring a guy like farmar in?

To ride the bench? Unlikely

My guess is they have some things on the table for Blake. Whether it be for a 2nd round pick to save money or a SF on a cheap multi year deal or a 1 year deal

CDR doesn't look strong enough to guard the bigger SF's to me.

I like the idea of trading Blake & Meeks for a starting SF & bringing Selby in to play the 3rd string minutes at both guard spots.. Hopefully he's good enough to make the team.
