Synergy: Points per Possession

For example, in your most recent season update, you have Howard consuming 358.5 possessions.

This is interesting. It's from the Indiana game. Howard went to the line seven times. Five times he took two FTs. Once was an and-1. The seventh time he earned two FTS, but Jamison had a lane violation, so the FTA was wiped off, and Jamison was credited with a TO. So, not Howard's fault that he didn't get to take the second FT, so count it as half a possession, like a tech FT.

Duhon's 3 point shooting has been a pleasant surprise. And on top of that he's dishing the rock really well too.

Wow, even Kobe's seems low. Have something to do with passes that didn't result in assists?

1.18 is good. If you look at is points compared to FGA, you might expect it to be higher, so clearly his ast/to had something to do with lowering it.

It's called stats lie...those numbers mean squat. You have to watch the games.

I don't know what you're trying to say. I'm interested to hear your research on stats vs. first-person observation though.

Nice job, Nash. He consumed almost as many possession as Kobe, at a higher efficiency.

So far, in 129 minutes, Nash has consumed 70 possessions.

32 FGA
1 Drawn shooting foul
28 assists (2 for three)
9 TO

That's 95 points produced in 70 possessions. That's 1.36 per possession.

Is Meeks' 0.50 SYNERGY a season low for any laker?

Haha...I don't think so. Let me look quick. I'll look only at people who consumed at least 10 possessions.

I thought that was a funny question. Did a quick look, and it's not the worst. But it's pretty damn close.

Jamison, game 15, produced 3 points on 11 possessions, for 0.27 points.

No surprise, Antawn was terrible that game. Meeks was pretty bad this game too.. He wasn't able to hit the outside shot and whenever he tried something different (drive) he seemed to get himself in a lot of trouble.

Yeah; it's going to be our shooters when they're cold who turn in the lowest of the low probably. Hill poured in some bad outings (pretty frequently), but it's mostly because he turns it over and doesn't hand out assists.

Seems like a pretty high synergy rating for a loss.... Perhaps the highest in a loss of the season?
We really should be winning when our top players are being that efficient.

Well, like I said in other threads, we played well enough on offense to win comfortably. Our D was AWFUL though. We just flat out sucked on that end.
SYNERGY is an offensive stat, isn't it?

Yeah from what I understand of it, it's an offensive stat, so our deficiencies from last night wouldn't show up.

Agreed with you on that; our offense definitely wasn't the problem. Our defense needs some serious work....

Yes, it is an offensive stat. That might be our highest in a loss. On the road today. Will check when I settle I'm to watch the game tonight.
