Yeah but that's not fair. Duhon would NEVER have gotten double digits in assists in Mike Brown's slow-it-down, give-it-to-Kobe-and-get-out-of-the-way offense.

Sessions did 3 times, Fisher did it once.

True. I guess I shouldn't have said "NEVER".

But for the Clippers he got double digit assists 7 times in one season in 38 starts. He can do it if he's given the chance and environment to. There is no better coach in the NBA for boosting PG stats than D'Antoni.

I gotta admit Duhon is my new favorite Laker. I just love him. He should be the starting PG.

Definitely, he's become another great bright spot in one of Mitch's trades. Most of us expected Clark to be that guy, but it's been Duhon and hopefully his current level of play continues once Nash returns.

His becoming something more than just "the guy of the travel dance".

Expected nothing out of him and now he`s producing double doubles and shooting lights out from 3...

He's shooting BY FAR the best of his career from outside and many of those shots are from WAY downtown...

I don't think he can keep this up, but he's been such a bright spot for us. I really bashed the guy when he got here, but he's been our best backup PG by far this season. When Nash gets back, he'll help that bench unit immensely.

Steve Blake should never play again. Duhon should be Nash's backup, Blake should only come in if they're both in foul trouble or it's garbage time, making Morris for SURE never play again.

Chris Duhon's play tonight has me wanting to start a "Silent but Deadly" thread for players who quietly do their jobs but barely receive any recognition. 0 points tonight but a whopping SEVEN assists to one turnover. Duhon does his job as a backup PG, he takes the open three when it's there but other than that he focuses on setting up his teammates. Blake is officially bruddahbanned from the floor.

duhon does his job, period. yea it's not flashy or necessarily exciting...but what more do you want from your backup pg. i love what he does.

7 assists but man Jarret Jack lit him up lol

Duhon certainly not hurting us when he was on the floor, 7 assists with 1 turnover was a decent output, he is a solid 3rd string PG for us.

Jack's shots were just falling at will. Nothing you can do about that.

He's solid. He's definitely not flashy, but he makes the right decision and the right pass more often than not. He's got more left in the tank than he showed in Orlando...not sure what happened there. I think he is a better fit for this squad than Blake, especially with D'Antoni who had Duhon playing the best basketball of his NBA career.

^^ Agreed. He should be the number one backup PG for sure. He's played well for us this season. Blake has been such an epic bust for us. I defended the guy plenty but he's really been disappointing. Hurt every year and consistently inconsistent on the court.

Defensively he's smart, but he's just slow compared to these speed demon PG's. At least he doesn't turn the ball over or doesn't hesitate to make a right pass.

His on the ball defense isn't bad at all, it's his help defense and rotations that are Kobe Bryant level awful.

Offensively, he's not bad. He's not Steve Nash, but he's not bad. As a total package he's our best backup PG.

Same problem as with Blake. As a starter, playing with our stars (and now having a PG dominant offense), he was able to rack up some easy assists and hit a couple of open threes because of the attention drawn by everyone else. Off the bench, he's not getting those same looks and his inability to put pressure on the defense as a scorer is a big liability.

And when Nash is out of the game, having any PG run our offense is going to look terrible in the comparison. I'd rather we have a scoring PG and run the offense through whatever other starter is playing alongside the bench (Kobe, Pau, or Dwight). A back-up PG who can penetrate, finish at the rim, and create his own shot would be awesome.
