This will be even better news by the time Friday rolls around. Kobe will have all ALLEGATIONS dropped against him, cause he hasn't even been charged yet. Malone will probably verbally agree tonight or tomorrow...so when Friday comes around all will be good in LALA land with only 5 days left to make it a certainty on the 16th. I could breath a lil easier now. :freak2:

All I can say is HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.]!!!!

This is one of the best (if not the best starting 5 of all-time)!!

Look who's coming off the bench for this team!!

All this and Milwaukee waived Peeler today. I'd love to see Jon Barry or Piatkowski in a Laker uniform but to have AP back (especially this season) would be perfect!!

And also, back on the old Club Lakers board (when I wasn't registered) I told all y'all that Payton would be a Laker next year and for months all I got was ridicule. But now, the prediction has come true and an amazing Laker team is about to step foot on the court and give us one of the most remarkable seasons to watch in sports history!!

That's crazy that you just said that Gyrl, cause my sisters b-day was yesterday, my first cousin on my moms side is today, and my first cousin on my dads side is tomorrow. And speakin about my Dad, his b-day was on July 5th, when all this false allegations of Kobe came out.
Anyways my point was that, my cousins birthday was today and he is a huge Laker fan and when I called him earlier today to wish him a good one, I said jokingly that I was close with GP and KM's agents and my gift to him would be gary and malone agreeing to join us today. All I gotta say is my cousin must have ripped open his gift right when he got it....damn i'm good
If Karl doesn't agree by tonight, I will have to give my cousin a birthday gift of malone agreeing to LA tomorrow. :jam2:
If any of you guys have a birthday this month...just let me know so I can start workin on your gifts.... :man12:

Dayam!! Somewhere in the 70's I'm hopin! But it's gonna still be a long and hard season, cuz the rest of the league is gonna be on their toes! We're gonna have GP, now all we need to do is hear that Malone is gonna come too, then we're set!

what do ya'll think about moving kobe to the 3 spot and starting fisher in the backcourt alongside payton? that would allow george to come off the bench to give us that energetic spark. and if malone comes to la, i predict horry will have a breakout year since all the pressure will be taken off of him!!! wow, this is exciting!

But Horry's a FA, and we didn't pick up his option. :man5:

no it would not work that great. fish is not great with the jumper anymore!!! and he is too slow and too small for the 2 guard spot!!! Maybe if he finds his jumper!!!! Plus PJ doesnt like small guards unless they are named Gary Payton!!

GP isn't a small guard.. He's like 6'4''.. He has tha height over most guards, but not the size like Fish.

No, I still feel Fisher should come off the bench...plus George will need to develop this year and what better way to do it then playin with 4 Hall of Famers. Plus once Fox comes back, I feel Phil will slowly work him in and then talk to George about comin off the bench again, because you are rite...he does provide that electric spark.
Your idea of moving Kobe to the 3 is intriguing, in that Pargo would be next off the bench and he will surely be electric as shown with his performances in the summer pro league. Either way, i feel like now we are going to go after Jon Barry and he certainly does not lack in the energy area. I would also want to address the back up center position. With Payton taking the MLE and Malone taking the vet. min or LLE, we still have two vet. mins. we can offer, but that would put our roster at 15...so I really don't know what's gonna happen, but maybe a trade could even happen...you don't know....I think since Mitch is on a roll he probably won't stop here and just try to address every area of conern on the team...GP takes care of the defensive gaurd position...check....Malone takes care of the scoring power forward position...check....some of starters will now move to become good role players coming off the bench, which obviously takes care of our bench positions....check....we have a likely energetic sixth man in Fisher, George (once Fox becomes a starter), Jon Barry/Lue (if we pick them up) coming off the bench....check......now we need a good back-up center that can give Shaq a good 10-15 minutes of rest per game....Slava/Madsen.....definitely not a check :man7:

It'll be great to have Barry back.. I always remembered him as a bench warmer back in the days, but that was cuz Del never really played him. But he's improved, and we could defenetly use his talents here. He'll be a great off the bench player at the 2 spot. But if we moved Kobe the the 3, then who would play the starting 2 spot? Rush? If we kept Kobe at the 2 spot, then who would play the starting 3 spot? George? We still would need that spark off the bench, and I think Deveans the key to that. But then what are the answers for those Q's?? :man3:

I know huh?? That's why he wants Kareem to play the 1 spot, but he can't cuz that isn't his natural position. But GP is tall enough, and he's a PG, so that'll make PJ happy :jam2:
