after watching the lakers vs the clippers on espn classic last night, i came away very impressed with how well "THAT BENCH" played. especially matt barnes,steve blake and shannon brown. if this year's bench could produce like the one of 2010-2011 i believe will definately win another ship. but if we don't get a better supporting cast to surround our starting studs,we're not getting past the first round imho.

what a strange thread... that bench was actually rather weak. Shannon thought he was a little Kobe. Barnes disappeared in the playoffs. Blake had a disappointing season.

Our bench now is already much better than that one...

Hmm, I guess I remember them being pretty good at the start or we wouldn't have started calling them that, but it didn't end well. I liked the bench mob better, it had some of that athleticism and energy we still lack today, Farmar, Brown, Ariza, Sasha, Powell, Mbenga. It's not a great list of names but they really gelled together at times. I know Ariza eventually started, but he was a bench mob guy first until we dumped Space Cadet.

i miss shannon. good for 9 pts in 20 mins and a crazy highlight every night. plus really gave us a fastbreak game for our bench. gave kobe rest too and was money from the foul line.

i miss our bench having athleticism.

Bench Mob was the best. I really miss having Farmar and Sasha back up the 1 & the 2.

We started calling them killer Bs before the season really got going, it was dropped quickly when it was realized that they weren't worthy of any cool nicknames. Of course they had a couple moments here and there but lol @ the OP saying we need a better supporting cast and putting the "killer Bs" up as an example of a championship bench.

Don't judge a season by a single game... even a blind squirrel finds the occasional nut.

The were actually good at the start of the season. One of the leagues best, they just fell wayyy off as the season went on.

Shannon would have been a nice player for us last season but I think Meeks will fit better & can give us he same kind of production/impact.
