Maybe the Lakers slip into the playoffs.. maybe video game Kobe comes back again.

Never know. Kobe averaging 50pts a game through the playoffs/finals to win another.. lol. I can dream right?

I dont know about yall but im fired up to be the underdogs&fight, crawl&scratch our way to the top again. The way I see it, the more doubts&haters out there the better for the Lakers to be motivated like a mother. Thats how im built, pleasure wouldnt feel so good if it wasnt for pain :jam2:

honestly, the last 2 years i only watched a few games start to finish. but this year i'm really looking forward to watching as much as i can (which may still only be games here and there based on schedule, but im actually looking forward to watching when i can). we finally have a coach who isn't a goober (brown)/idiot (brown & dantoni), and a roster that's mostly full of players looking to prove something. wouldn't be surprised if we sneak into the playoffs and potentially make some noise. not expecting a title run but still, this team is more exciting than what we've had lately :jam2:

plus we got houston's pick and they got screwed on bosh! f*** houston! :jam2:

I agree S.R.05. Went through the same ride with the 49ers... Guess what team IMOPO is knocking at the Vince Lombardi trophy residency? :man1:

What is everyone most looking forward to this season? Pick your top 3 or 5.

-How will kobe look
-Randle's development
-Jeremy Lin
-Can Nash be a teeny tiny bit healthy
-Boozer
-Davis
-How will Hill perform in a bigger role
-Having a coach that demands defense and whom kobe reportedly respects
-can Wes be a D&3 guy
-Will Clarkson get minutes
-Can Xavier stay healthy and continue his growth
-Will Swaggy be the same without the MDA greenlight
-others?

1. Kobe- I really want to see what this possibly-last incarnation of Kobe is. More of a passer? Pick your spots kind of offensive weapon? Leader?

2. Randle- The new kid on the block. Showed some fantastic things in Summer League, I'd love to see him go out and show us a unique skill set.

3. Defense- It's going to be great seeing a coach that emphasizes defense and what Scott can bring to these young men on that end of the floor. I want to see effort and pride defensively even if they're not that effective.

Random bump. I'm more excited about this season than any season since we won the 'ship in '09.

Kobe is going to prove people wrong and come back an elite player. Of that, I have no doubt. If Kobe plays 60+ games this season, that'll be enough for him to figure out how to work around any physical limitations he may have.

Aside from him, we have a great cast of supporting players. I still don't know if all of them will be able to prove themselves and stay healthy, but some combination of Randle, Lin, Hill, Boozer, Young, Clarkson, Henry, Johnson, and Davis will establish themselves as cornerstone pieces on a playoff team. I don't know which of them it will be, but they all have the talent to step up and do it.

Last season I didn't care much to watch the Lakers. Unusual and quite sad for me. With Kobe out, and Antoni coaching, it wasn't something to look forward to. Win lose or draw this year, actually looking forward to watching again.

Is it me or does this seem like an awfully long off season? I'm just ready for some Laker basketball to start.

You know what... I feel exactly the same. Probably because I am used to watching the Lakers in June; or at least May. This is pretty bad.

June Laker ball is a ways off I'm afraid.

Randle- I'm on record that his development is what I most look forward to.

Lin - really wondering if he is a flash in the pan that has shined in limited time because of being in an MDA styled offense, or is this guy really a baller who will be even better considering that he is playing in his hometown now.

Hill - I always felt that this guy was much more talented than he's shown as he is a mobie big man with a high motor, but that he's been in the wrong sytem (MDA) and dogged by injuries. Maybe under Byron's leadership he will establish himself around the league as a legit dependable starter, instead of an impressive big man off the bench.

Clarkson - same as for Randle. He's come out of nowhere to generate some intrigue. Will this reveal that the front office has some genius left in it.

X - man this guy seems like he has what it takes and is at the cusp of proving himself, but hot damnit he can't stay healthy. Will this be his year?

The Lakers didn't sign Beasley. I'm optimistic we've turned the corner on bad signings! :jam2:

Top 3
1. Randle's development - Will he be our new franchise player moving forward? He has the drive and motivation, can he channel that into the game and become a young leader?

2. Byron's direction - The years with Phil, with Kobe, will spoil us for a long time. We've gone through 2 coaches with no direction since then, and it's been painful. Much like the US Men's National Soccer team, expectations may be low, but if we play the right way, it'll be at least fun to watch while we rebuild to a contender again.

3. The "new" role players - Lin, Davis, Boozer, Hill (consistent time) - Lin - Probably our most capable PG. Looking to prove doubters wrong (still), with a consistent starting role and minutes. Davis - Young, athletic big. Hopefully can be another Jordan HIll. Boozer - will play a large mentor role with Randle. Provide veteran presence with the young group. Hill - what can Hill do in a consistent starting role?
