The Optimistic Thread! (TRD's FREEDOM THREAD!)

Im opstimistic in knowing that we have an old a55 squad. So if we that old, an old a55 squad cant be an elite defense. In hiring mike dantoni, at least we have a chance to be a top notch offense. Dantonio was the better gamble. Our chances of a better offense compared to a better defense at this teams age were greater. Hence the mike hiring over phil!

Interesting tidbit, Miami is currently ranked 27th in defensive efficiency while the Lakers are ranked 9th.

We all know the Lakeshow had been stinking up the joint with the bad D, but not as bad as MIA. There are only 2 teams in the west ahead of us in that category and that is Memphis and OKC tied at 5th.
Both those teams are also ahead of us in offensive efficiency along with Dallas and the Floppers, though I expect us to get much better in that category once we get our system in place.

I know it's still early in the season, but if this keeps up, the Laker's chances at beating Miami should we meet up are very good.
In other words our D is pretty good even though as some of you may remember Mike Brown saying, we hadn't even run any defensive drills. I fully expect us to keep up this good production even with Mike
coming in to coach the team, everyone won't suddenly forget how to play defense.

With this type of basketball, the world will be fed with tacos after Dec. 21st hits and wipes out the Earth's natural food supply.

Some interesting stuff

Even with a sub .500 record the Lakers are still ranked 7th in the league in SRS (stat that ranks teams based on margin of victory, strength of opponents, home court/away games) and they even have a margin of victory better than the Spurs. That doesn't even factor in tonight's game where we won by 14 which should boost both of those values.

All of our wins have been by double digits and our only loss without Clown has been to the Spurs by a measly 2 points. So basically we have the signs of being an elite team, man it would have been a nightmare to see this team underachieve because of Potato's ineptitude. We just need to start winning some road games to see how real this team is.

This was fun, very fun.

Mike Brown was the problem.

We even held them to under 50 pts the second half!

This is FUN ... especially after watching the worst Lakers type of B-Ball ever last season..

It's crazy how the up tempo style makes everybody shooting the ball with confidence

Just such a drastic difference between this laker team and Mike Brown's Laker team (probably the most boring style played).

Optimistic thought, we're doing this without Nash. I don't see how we can do better on offense, we can certainly do better on defense, but Nash should at least keep things rolling like this or make them look even smoother.

Ironically what causes Brown's demise was him trying to coach this team. He could've just sat there & collect his paycheck while this team steamroll over the league.

Yeah, Blake, Duhon, and Morris were all crapped on last season, and now they're actually pretty decent, which is the most we could ask for.

CDR went for 49pts/8ast/7rb. wow.
