Kevin Martin is no slouch, and the Thunder also got Lamb, but I think their bench just took a HUGE hit, mainly because Kevin Martin is injury prone, 6 years older and NOT the matchup problem for Kobe that Harden was. Also Harden knows the players and the system and has produced nearly the same amount (16.8 ppg on 49%) on 10 shots per game as Kevin Martin (17.1ppg on 41%) did on 13.5 shots.

Thunder add aggregate talent but lose individual talent. Harden was up and coming, Martin is on the decline...it will be interesting to see how this changes match-ups/dynamics.

Honestly we match up great against them now. Put Lamb in. He's young, he's unproven, and who knows if he's even got what it takes to be an NBA player? He's certainly not ready right now to be Harden.

Martin simply doesn't provide what Harden can. If he did, he wouldn't have been traded, that's for sure. This was a good financial move for OKC. But you HAVE to know that it's going to affect chemistry and you HAVE to know it's going to slow them down. Literally.

Our match now looks a lot better than it did yesterday. That can't be denied.

^^ Yep. That trade is really good for us, no getting around that. Harden off OKC is definitely a reason for renewed optimism even after that freaking atrocious 0-8 preseason disaster courtesy of Tater Tot.

Despite how poorly we played, if we make half of the FTs we missed, we would have won the game.

There were certainly parts we could be happy about.

Dwight looked good early. Gasol looked good early. Kobe looked just fine. Blake looked alright in the first half.

I'm just upset right now, I don't want to even think about this game.

Jamison had some nice plays.

No reason for optimism right now. Sorry. We should have blown this Mavs team out badly.

Only optimism is if we keep playing this poorly, Mike Brown might be fired and we actually could hire a coach that isn't clueless.

Love Jordan Hill's hustle tonight. Dude just works hard.

optimism: we have the talent and pieces.

we need a new head coach. mike brown is the biggest joke in the history of lakers coaches.

Still a very talented team, still a lot of upside, it seems obvious what needs to be done, just a question of doing it.

Jerry Sloan or at least Mike D'Antoni are unemployed

- Jordan Hill looked good
- Pau looked amazing in 1st half
- Kobe shot well from the field...0 threes attempted
- Jamison played much better tonight

We already got the point guard to run his system...

If the Lakers start 0-8 or something like that, there is a chance. Jerry Sloan would have to be the pick. His offense and defense is perfect for this team.

kobe shoting 11-14...just going with the flow...nice game to bad they forgot him and didnt pass him the ball while they were feeding dwight who could buy basket from the ft...

I actually liked the Bench rotation..... the production was o.k. but I liked the choice of players and the minutes.

I'm glad we aren't trying to put guys out there for 1 or 2 minute stretches..... We'll see if it continues tomorrow.

The NBA season is a marathon, not a sprint. Miami looked like a** for quite some time when their big three first came together in '10-'11.

bench was okay. Jamison showed us something. Hill was awesome...just missed free throws. Blake even played well...6 assists? okay Blake okay.

Pau was awesome first half. will def be tired tomorrow. Kobe didn't seem too involved in the offense...didn't get the ball enough 2nd half. he was shooting 9-10 at one point...get him the ball. Dwight looked okay just not at the level he used to be yet. in time.

just hope Nash is allowed to use the ball more bc he was Ramon sessions tonight. not allowed to do what he does best...run the offense and set guys up. guys prob would have had even better offensive nights if he was allowed to. f mike brown

^^How can Hill be "awesome" when he missed 6 of 7 free throws...... He sure didn't get those points back by stopping anyone.... Brand, Curry or who ever they posted on him scored. He got some boards and hustled but I think "awesome" is a pretty big stretch.

Anyway I liked the rotations that give these guys significant minutes rather than interjecting Ebanks or Duhon and creating 2 or 3 minute stretches for the bench..... like we did last year.... I'd go with these guys for a week or two and then if it doesn't work pub Ebanks and Duhon in.....

Kobe shot amazing percentages and played within the "offense", except for that one hero ball shot that went in.
