1. Anything can happen in the playoffs, should we make it.

2. Pau, MWP and Blake account for $20 mil in expiring contracts in the offseason to use as trade chips towards next season ($23.5 mil if you include Jordan Hill).

3. 17 months until the "2014 plan" kicks in :)

LOL - I've been thinking that for weeks now... "we could make a nice run with this upcoming schedule" - hasn't happened. Hey, at least we're only 0-1 for this new season. Could be .500 tonight, but Utah is a fast team who can defend our bigs. So I'm not too optimistic for tonight.

Call me crazy, but with Utah's interior presence.....I think we can benefit from running the offense through Pau tonight. Running the offense THROUGH Pau -- not Pau being our #1 option.

Why? He's tall. He can get on the block. We do that and the *other* things like set back screens and not really expect Pau to score from there much, he can get Dwight and others looks from rotating defense from our off-ball screens.

Am I crazy or with our roster why do I still think it's not that hard to create some fluid offensive plays? I can see the plays I would want to run actually happening.

I can see them.

Utah's bigs are no joke, after Memphis bigs they're the next best out there and we thoroughly outplayed them tonight

Maybe they finally clicked?

Lakers have only had 15 games of Pau,Kobe,Dwight,Metta,Nash. Heat's 1st 15 games with big 3 were not good either

Lakers looked calm, collected and like they had a system...... Were they using the triangle today?

I don't care what our record is the rest of the way, if they play like that every game. The no energy, lethargic losses are the ones that piss me off.

This is the kind of game we need though. In a funk, OKC coming up, keep up the bromancing. :jam2:

Wire to wire... Tacos for the fans and double-digit win... It's the letter to Doomsday which has awaken the Gods to bring our Lakers team back
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Man I really had forgotten what joy felt like while watching a Laker game, that was fun. Another positive, the Celtics suck almost as much as we do this season, so we got that going for us.

Damn that was a good time... Utah isn't a slouch team either so that was a good game to watch... I don't know how much optimism I've got, but certainly I feel really good right now.

I'll get back to ya'll on optimism later.

We brought it on the defensive end tonight. Even though our offense was clicking too, it's the defensive end that needs to be our constant, whether shots are falling or not.

Some quick optimism:
1. Minnesota lost.
2. The Lakers held Utah to only 84 points. They shot only 42% from the field and 21.4% from deep.
3. We dominated the glass 45-30.
4. We shot over 50% from the field as a team and 42.9% from deep.
5. Our big 4 shot 28/41 or 68% from the field.

For sure. That's all I want. If we lose every game trying our hearts out, that's one thing. But we weren't even doing that.

It feels good to be proud of our guys again.
