Well, whether we make the playoffs or not, I'm optimistic that next year we'll be much better and actually be contenders, winning at least 50 games. If we stay healthy, of course.

For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

OK...I'll say it again. Lakers make it to the eight spot on a miracle shot then reel off 16 ridiculous wins in a row.

Liquid lunch. Happy Hour is on! :jam2:
Nor can the Lakers get blamed for always making the right decisions over decades. At some point its not just luck or "gamble", its superior management and superior ownership.

Optimism: DAL will lose today and UTA tomorrow.

Should that make us feel better? I don't know.

Nah. Squeaking into the playoffs doesn't bring my any joy, they're going to get swept by the Spurs and lose each game by double digits. Actually that will probably be more humiliating than just missing them all together.

That's certainly debatable. I actually don't think we'd be swept by anyone -- but we would not win the series either. One win and done. Something like that.

I don't have TWC so I don't have to watch this painful season...[sad face].

I'm hoping a sweep in 1st round(if we keep the 8th seed)!
So, if we go to the playoffs, at best, we'll have 14 games till the end of the season!

Whats nearly hysterical is the fact that IF we make the playoffs, and IF the Spurs hold on to the 8th seed, I think we beat the Spurs.

Once again thats IF we get the 8 seed and IF San Antonio Keeps first.

If San Antonio drops and we have to play anyone else, all bets are off.

Just to show how optimistic I'm feeling right here, right now in this thread...

An epic, optimistic prediction!

I predict, if the Lakers stay/get healthy, that they will... WIN ALL 7 REMAINING GAMES AND END IN THE 7TH SEED.

YES! Right here and now, before the biggest challenge of the season, that the Lakers finish the season on a NINE game win streak and the Rockets lose 2 of the next 6 AND the last game of the season against us IN LA!

This will pit us against the SAN ANTONIO SPURS in the first round!

There we will win the first game in San Antonio, lose the second, win both at home (4th game in OT), lose the 5th, and win the 6th game AT HOME to go to Round 2!

After that my vision gets cloudy.

Nonsense, we'll then beat Denver IN Denver, then OKC, then Miami for the championship. Hip hip, hooray! :jam2:

I hope that's not sarcasm I sense in my optimistic thread....

I'm 100% serious about my prediction. I just don't know what they'll do afterwards.

I'll take it. And I'll add a dose.

If 1-5 in the WC stay as is, that'll be Clippers vs Memphis round one.

If we beat SAS, we'll play the winners of that round in round 2. Clippers would be money because we wouldn't travel and we'd be at home. Memphis would be reasonable. I think we can squeak out a miracle WCF birth.

And my vision gets cloudy after that.

Naw man, there's always an optimistically hopeful side in me that says we can beat anybody on any given night. Well except in Denver :man10: ...but you never know.

Plus, it's a good thing we have a "realistic look" thread. :man1:
