If there is a WMC thread, then there should be an Optimism thread. The optimists need to stay the hell out of the WMC thread (unless they have something pessimistic to say), and the pessimists need to stay out of the optimism thread (well, unless they have something optimistic to say).

The only time there should be arguing in here, is if someone isn't being optimistic enough! Haha.

I do find it interesting that TRD comes here to feel better about things in Laker Land. I actually go in to WMC because there are some real off-the-ledge types in there (the ones of the 'blow it up' variety) and that always makes me feel a little better about my own constant concerns with this team and roster.

Well the WMC thread is a thread for discussion and complaining.. I should know because I created it. The only thing people come into the "optimistic" thread to basically bait and talk trash. What is the point of that?

I'd love to see a 10 game winning streak start tomorrow against the clips. I want the Lakers to embarrass the clips bad tomorrow. I have a feeling Dwight may want to show that he is the dominant big in LA and destroy Jordan and Blake :jam2:

The team's only been together for a few games, and already looks better, even in losses. I really think everyone was just tired from the new year that day.

And the team only lost by four despite playing like a bunch of old guys. When you look at it, there were a bunch of free throws missed, and a bunch of three pointers missed. They make a few of those misses maybe the Lakers are looking at a 7 out of the last 8 won. Oh well, time to get vengeance on the next two teams!

I'm optimistic about it too actually.

I know the Clippers are going to come out and try to knock us out quickly. I'm hopeful that Dwight comes to play and that our bench guys step up. We all know Kobe and Nash will do their thing, I just hope the rest of the team can give us another signature performance like Christmas.

The Clippers are reeling. If we give em a good punch, we could win this game.

I just want to see the same effort, focus, heart, and cohesion offensively and defensively that we saw against NY. If we can do that, we should win. If we do that and still come up short, it's okay. I just want to see the effort and cohesion with steady X's and O's improvement, even with some losses along the way. We can't judge X's and O's improvement when there is no heart or cohesion.

Nice 4th quarter effort. Too bad we entered it down 16 and guys were in foul trouble.

We have Kobe, who at least makes the games worth watching.

The only optimism we've had this season is that we've seen how awesome this team can be in STRETCHES.

But they're so damn inconsistent that we end up losing those games and haven't build toward consistency.

A lose is a lose, but to come back like that....I say they have a chance. And if it doesn't work this season, Jim, Jerry, and Mitch CAN'T be that stupid not to add McMillan or someone to be a defensive mind to the team.

Look at what people have been saying about the Clippers, according to many......we should have gotten steamrolled, and at first they were (I checked the scores lightly on my phone and until the last quarter and then I was checking every few seconds as they came back and then watched the last minute on tv) but they came back.

THERE IS HOPE.

It sucks to loose to the Clippers, but that could have been WAY worse.

By the rules of this thread, I can't see myself posting in it for a long time. Obligatory positive comment: We still get to watch Kobe play, and at such a high level, will be a sad day when he retires we must enjoy it while it lasts.

I am optimistic because since Nash has returned we have been having more of the good play and less than before. We are on the cusp of the corner but we just haven't turned it. Yes, it is frustrating but I see the light.

beat the clippers in the 4th. it was the early deficit that really cost us the game. also if meeks hit those 3 wide open 3's he had early it could have changed the whole game. dude needs to find his stroke its getting ridiculous now. i love his game and that he does other things when his shot is off but he has wide open 3's all game. gotta knock those down. could have had 20 points tonight if he did early in the game

I'm just glad that Mitch and Company can't get much more hard evidence that Pau is done than this game.

Hopefully changes are coming.

Another positive like others have stated is that we are just so privileged to watch Kobe play each and every game. We will get to tell our future kids or grandkids that we lived in the time of Kobe "The Black Mamba"
