I believe it was ESPN radio that replayed an interview with Phil. He said he had been extremely tired for at least a month, and after complaining about chest pain for the last week Jeannie made him go take care of it.
Phil didn't have the energy to coach and prior to the surgery he had already made up his mind that this was his last season of coaching. Now he expects to be feeling better and will make a go of it next season to complete his contract.

I'm glad that he had the surgery.
I heard that it was 90 percent closed at one point.
This will allow him to coach for next season and he looks so good that he might coach for more.

If Phil coaches next year and that's truly it, who is next ? Clemons ?
I'm all for Clemons coaching LA, but I have mixed feelings. Every year at trade deadline LA is screwed because it's not enough time to integrate new players into triangle offense.
What do you guys think ?
