this upcoming road trip will tell us how much the Lakers have really improved...we have completely sucked on the road this year

Maybe before the Portland game... Yes... but after they blew a 20 point lead against the Blazers and had a bad last second loss at the Buzzer, I think mentally they are finished... quite frankly... I think the Lakers @ Portland game in April is gonna decide our playoff hopes... which is gonna suck because we never win up their.

I think it could come down to the last game of the season when we play Houston

Just because these teams on the menu are considered "beatable" doesn't mean automatics either. I think they will still struggle but given their upbeat and somewhat cohesive play the last three wins, at least I feel better about their chances.

I suspect, Rockets will get the 6th seed, there confidence is at a sky-high level right now, they just beat Utah at SLC by 45 pts which never happens in that loud arena.... only a team like the Blazers/Utah and maybe even GS has a chance to come back down to earth by the end of the season... but I don't expect the same to happen to Houston.. so maybe the Lakers/HOU game will decide our playoff hopes but it won't matter to the Rockets cause there probably gonna have the 6th/5th seed locked up by then.

Lots of optimism here. Would love for 5-2 or an improbable 6-1 (we're talking road games here). But realistically, I think 4-3 is the best we can hope for.

Yes, we've been playing better, but it takes time to tie up all the loose ends. I still see a lot of defensive lapses (giving up 30 fast break points, giving up a 19-2 fourth quarter run in 3 minutes :freak2: ) that would most surely result in losses on the road.

Wow!...... the Wagon got crowded again...... :man10:

The inertia of this teams stinkage isn't changed by a 3 game stretch. We've done this head fake before only to lose several in a row again. While the last 3 have been encouraging the reality of who we beat needs to be weighed in the enthusiasm as well. We were a 10 seconds in the paint violation away from being in real trouble last night against NO on our home floor. N.O. missed a ton of makable open shots as well in the first half as well.

Who knows what we'll see on this trip. I'll take it one game at a time until we can play all 48 two or 3 games in a row.....

I'd be happy with a 5-2 road trip, anything less than that will make this trip a disappointment. We lost a lot of easy games both at home and on the road earlier in the season and now is the time to make it up.

It's the way we're playing. Don't think fans are stupid enough to "bank" on a 3-game winning streak-- especially after a 5 game streak led to start January 2-10.

It's the way we're playing. Balanced offense. Ball movement. Rest for starters. Defensive intensity. Defensive game plan.

I'm encouraged...if they can stick to the plan this is brilliant basketball. Don't forget about our roster on paper...everyone knows it was tragedy for this roster to be 16-25 given the talent.

You don't see a noticeably different team on the floor? Wins and losses aside, the actual basketball product -- you think its the same?

^^+1 been disappointed too many times this season to bring that white flag down just yet, but if they can keep up this level of play on the road and come away with a good record, I might just reconsider. But let's get a win tonight first!

Should have known it was fools gold.
Can't even beat one of the worst teams in the league.
This team will be lucky to win 2 on this road trip.

Oh well. Kobe can't approach the scoring record dishing out assists. :toilet3:

Since we lose to like the second worse team in the road trip (Charlotte) what can give me any hope of us even making it a competitive trip against teams like Miami, and Brooklyn?

Still have a chance to go 6-1.. :man10: :man6:
What's more likely is that we go 3-4 or 2-5 or something and are officially out of the playoff race. That would suck, but it seems we're headed on that direction.

Might as well have a little blind faith. Lets be honest, we either come home with all of us feeling great...or we know that the final 2 months of the year are just games for the sake of playing games.

Hope for the best, I guess.

I wonder if Jimmy is starting to see that building a championship team is not as easy as he thought.

4-3 is not respectable at this point. 5-2 was barely good enough, it would only put us at 25-27, STILL trying to climb to .500. We need to win 5 of 6 now and beat 2 out of Miami, Brooklyn and Boston, sweep all the bad teams, I'm not confident.

the lakers are lesson in shifting standards this season. 4-3 is now quite respectable, given that they dropped the first game to one of the worst teams on the docket (and make no mistake, the suns suck hard).

hell, 4-3 looks miraculous right now.

Based on optimism. Which I respect. But I do not think that 4-3 is respectable, unfortunately.
