So... time for the road trip...

So... time for the road trip...

... can we do, say, 5-2?

Would that be good in your eyes? Are we now focused enough? Feel free to discuss all the matchups:

PHX
MIN
DET
BKN
BOS
CHA
MIA

That's not a bad schedule. What kind of adjustments do we have to make after these three consecutive wins? Who do we need to defend really well on this trip?

I think we could do: WWW, L, WW, L.

This is the real test to see if this team is for real. They've been downright horrendous on the road this season.

I'll take losses against Miami and Brooklyn but the rest needs to be wins if that's the case.

I'm taking the one game at a time approach.

W in Phoenix tomorrow.

Tighten up the D, keep playing the same dominating O and we will be alright.

There is no choice, we must do at least 5-2. We can't afford to trade wins and losses at this point, we need win streaks, if we can't be legit on the road we are not legit period. I believe we can do 5-2, except for Miami and Brooklyn these are not good teams, even Boston is struggling and Rondo is gone.

I'm going with 6-1. I don't see us beating Miami (though I'd love to destroy them), but the rest of those seem beatable to me. It's more about us than it is about them, always been the case.

IMO this road trip will be extremely, extremely decisive on our race for a playoff spot. It's almost a make-or-break trip. We haven't proven ourselves to be a good road team, and we haven't been a consistent team overall. Most of those games are very winnable, and it will come down to our team finally showing consistency on both ends. They must, or we're not making the playoffs.

I honestly think we are gonna start the road trip on the bad note before this team pulls it together, they're is gonna be a lot of adversity on this road-trip and it's gonna start with a blow out loss tomorrow.

I'm with the poster that said one game at a time; that's the best approach, IMO. We have a very winnable game tomorrow in Phoenix, but I'm not taking anything for granted with what has been a very unpredictable season.

Improve on the things that weren't good tonight & get the trip started off on a positive by beating an inferior Phoenix team..

i dont see any reason we cant go 7-0 or 6-1. miami is clearly the biggest challenge but if we keep playing as we have been, every game is winnable

we need to be on a 9 game winning streak going into south beach. at worse, that puts us at .500 coming back home and likely about 1-2 games out of the 8 spot.

If we have a 9 game winning streak we'll be either a lot closer or in the 8th seed.

not really. we're still 4 games out of the 8 seed. we've already won 3 straight, so 6 more in a row would mean that the current 8 seed would go 4-2. maybe they go 3-3. in either scenario, we're at least a game out.

that doesn't even include what portland does, who somehow came back and won tonight after being down big.

4-3... They are still working out their kinks. Benefit of home court but their road woes are still real and needed to be addressed. It remains to be seen if their current good play translates away from Staples.

Hoping for 5-2. That would be great and just leave us a few games back with 30 games left. This is the real test to see if we can salvage the season.

I mean, we've all said it before "the next few games should decide the season" but this time I think it is more accurate than it has ever been. Lakers got lucky with some of the teams above them losing enough games to give LA an actually reasonable chance at sneaking back into the playoffs, but they simply cannot afford to fall many more games back at this point, they really can't.

5-2 should be enough to keep the season alive maybe even gain some ground, 4-3 is going to be tough, 3-4 and the season is basically over 2-5 or worse and it's definitely over. If they go 6-1 or 7-0, on the other hand, then they're right back in it to win it, imo.

While I agree they look much better, more fluid, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

win in Phoenix. That's all that matters today.

I think we can pull 5-2 if this team builds on their current focus...

However, I'm not ready to concede losses to BKN & MIA...

sorry, your right. I just don't look at the Games Back total, really the only thing to pay attention to his the Loss column. How many losses we have compared to those we're chasing is the only thing that really matters because once we're all tied up there, it will be a race to see who can win more games. I have more confidence that we will.

I'd like us to get to .500 by the all-star break. That means at minimum we must go 7-2.

PHX
MIN
DET
BKN
BOS
CHA
MIA
PHX
LAC

Doable. But it's gonna be hard.
