Paau is everything Josh Smith isnt on offense. Can shoot but no athleticism. But Josh cannot shoot. So, no....

I think it's safe to say Pau is gone.. Sad times. Who knows though, if we get the right pieces back, Mike D might lead us to some rings.. He took the Suns to the WCF 2 seasons in a row, & has a much more talented roster now.. I want to see what he can do with the roster as is before we talk about Pau being traded.

Under MDA's system you need players who can shoot, we should keep Pau.

1 of the two bigs needs to be an outside shooter - and it's not Dwight... neither Pau not Smiff will be maximized in the go-go system.

Gasol is 32, isn't very fast and is on his way down, I think the best move we could make is trade him while he still has value. Every play-off he has been deteriorating and Josh Smith is only 26.

Dwight and Smith could be the best shot blocking front court in the NBA, and we are desperately going to need that as point guards are gonna blow past 39 year old Nash. And yes he can't shoot but he is athletic enough to finish and he is a reliable scorer. Again, i don't like the move but at somepoint you have to make moves so the team is a little younger and more athletic.

I would trade Pau if the right deal came along, obviously. However, Josh Smith isn't the right piece that we need. We need a top 10 SF. Ron's too inconsistent for my liking and we need someone at that position that can create, shoot the three above 35%, play defense, etc.

Before Granger got hurt, I would have liked to see Pau traded for Granger and West for example...

get me Bargani/Calderon for Pau. If Pau is gona just be a spacer and jump shooter all game long then get a real shooter. Yea Bargani doesn't reb or play D, but he's the type who can benefit playing next to a big like Howard...and besides its not like Pau is some shut down defender these days.

While I agree we need to upgrade Ron, any elite wing player is going to suffer playing next to Kobe. Look at the type of games Ron has when Kobe is out. There's only so many shots to go around for the wings. Granger or anyone else is going to see a significant drop in production if they join this team. We'd be best suited to replace Pau with a PF that fits the run & gun system, & hope we can also get a slight upgrade for Ron in the process.

As much as Smoove suffers with his jumper, I think he may make up for it with his athleticism on the break and help D. Him and Dwight would be insanely good on the PnR defense and help defense at the rim, which is what we'd need vs Miami and OKC (esp to make up for MDA's deficiencies).

We're probably going to have to trade Pau now, for a stretch 4 and/or shooters.

I'm pretty much done with Pau at this point. He's probably one of the slowest 4's in the league. He, alongside Metta just absolutely kill our speed and athleticism. Our spacing is horrific, and both play positions that generally have good finishers, which they aren't anymore at this point. Smith is a bonehead, but he's a jack of all trades guy with unreal athleticism. I think he would be great as a Shawn Marion type guy with Nash.

I would love to bring over Ryan Anderson. He's a local kid from where i'm living at right now Folsom/El Dorado Hils. He worked great alongside Dwight in the past, he'll really help us solve our spacing issues as he is a dangerous in the corner, and he'll make teams pay without hesitation(i'm looking at you Metta, and Blake). He's also a solid enough rebounder.

At this point Pau needs to go. He's still a great player, and I love him. He just seems like the odd man out.

Dwight's old teammate Ryan Anderson would be perfect for this starting line-up, and in this system. Do it Mitch. (not a straight-up trade obviously, but I know they wouldn't give up Rivers or Eric Gordon, so we'd have to get creative )
