Under D'Antoni, PAU or Josh Smith?

Postby LUUUKE on Mon Nov 12, 2012 1:12 am

i think Josh Smith is the obvious answer. he would easily put up 20 a game under Dantoni.

discuss.

Josh Smith is not "easily" going to put up 20 ppg on this team even under Mike D'Antoni.

Smith chucks jumpers he can't make even if he practiced them for 10 years, are you kidding me? + he doesn't have Pau's passing ability, also it's not like Pau for Smith would be an option.

Pau > Smith, so PAU. I don't care what system we run. D'Antoni better get the most out of Pau.

The ideal scenario: Pau is uber version of 2006's Boris Diaw - but without the handles, more post play and no 3's.

Josh Smith... in the words of the great Snoop Doggy Dogg: "You shoot those 3s, we shoot you right out this town"
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

Pau still. If Smith was an above average outside shooter, then I might be able to lean in his direction but he isnt...not to say Pau is either.

Our spacing is terrible enough, and he's a reckless player. Horrible move

I chose Pau, but this trade isn't even an option... why would Atlanta make that trade?
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

i dont care who is coach, right now i would trade pau for smith in the blink of the eye...
its simple...i dont trust pau...he dissapers in the play offs even against inferior players, and now he is even slower...plus its not like smith is bad passer either...

I think the ideal Player would be Nowitzki even though thats not Happening.

I would take Smith and I suggested the same months ago. This roster is still missing speed and athleticism and defense. Pau is also old and expensive.

Nobody would say Smith is a better player. But it does make some sense.

If we had Nowitzki, then the Lakers would challenge that 15-1 record.

Smith? Never.

He's athletic, but not smart and he can't shoot. Just no. If you want someone, find a guy that can hit long jumpers.

Well we need something for this offense to work...

You can't have Nash/Kobe/Pau/MWP sprinting up and down the court like gazelles all game. I think you need to trade Pau for personnel that fits what we are going to be running now, throw in a signing of Pietrus....

We don't have the shooters for this, we have cloggers.
