obviously none of the teams looking at him last year after the buyout are still interested (Miami, OKC, SAS). None of the other top playoff teams are looking for him (Mem, Bos, Clippers). And no other playoff teams have been linked to him (Indiana, Bulls, NY, BK, Den, Dal)...

maybe it's time to hang up the uniform for a suit, I'm sure we'd all like the idea of him on our bench as an assistant.

We should bring Fish back. Then, other than Nash we would have four of the worst PGs in the league on one roster in Blake, Duhon, Morris and Fish.

It would be some kind of record.

Caught Derek Fisher talking to Steve Nash today at Lakers facility. Couldn't sign in LA until March, but told he's just working out.

So we don't have to worry until March. Whew!

Derek is seriously one of my favorite players, Lakers, and people of all time. I've defended him vehemently for years.

If it wasn't for Duhon's stupid butt being here, I'd love him back as our 3rd string PG. It'd be weird for him and Blake, but other than that he'd be a great addition. Good locker room guy, great team guy, great LA guy. If we could dump Duhon and Morris and add Fisher would any of you really be against that?

I like Fish no doubt, but my heart skipped a beat when I first saw the thread title, and not in a good way.

The last statement is why he was traded in lieu of Sessions. To Fisher's credit, he did not seem to mind being Westbrook's backup at OKC. In all seriousness, I'd prefer him over Blake.

We need a young, athletic backup point guard right now. Strong, smart - I'd LOVE a player like Jarrett Jack.

I know that's why he was traded, and that definitely needed to happen. But he seemed fine in OKC as a backup PG getting limited minutes. I know he's too full of pride right now, but he couldn't even be signed here for a few months anyway.

Say March rolls around and Duhon is packaged away for a pick or something. Would anyone here be against picking him up if he were willing to come?

Jarrett isn't all that young actually. Sessions was the perfect fit.

And 3rd string is all I'm saying anyway, I don't want him to be the primary backup by any means.

i say bring him on as an assistant. he can still be that emotional leader from that position and everyone still respects him. im all for that.

It's easy: wait until next year, sign him before the playoffs, and play him (as a SG) only if we need a clutch shot, together with Kobe (at the 3) and Nash. Problem solved.

Or sign him as an assistant coach. He has that coach aura around him.

watchin that short video shows me that fisher and lakers management are on good terms... maybe a job will be in line for fisher soon... but not on the court!!!
