John Gilchrist actually commented on the YouTube video:

"I am embarrassed about this film circulating of me negatively on YouTube. This was an incident that I wasn't proud of that happened. I am sorry it happened at all, for all the University of Maryland fans and Community. I was simply defending myself in the heat of competition at the age of 18.

John Gilchrist"

To be honest, Blake came out looking like a punk in that video. Early in the video, you could hear whoever was filming it say that Blake kept on fouling him so he obviously had an issue with him for a while. Then before the fight, Blake was a little high with the elbows when he went to box out. He pretty much initiated and escalated everything.

He can take a punch! This is probably one of the few reasons I still support the Blake signing. He isn't soft... that's for sure.

So being a punk is being tough ? Ok, he is, but he's still a scrub, at least playing for the LA Lakers. Being worse than Farmar is saying something.

Just how I've seen Blake respond to aggression. Not saying anything about a certain big man... who tbh I'm still a fan of and want to see play for us this season.

With Shannon going into ball hog mode, Barnes getting injured and a new system that had him play off the ball a lot more, I'm willing to give him another chance with Mike Brown.

I LOL'd at the comment right below that one:

I like Ricky and hope he does well....but I'm afraid you will. He's going to get eaten up from lack of athleticism and physicality in the NBA. Nothing seems to have changed from clips shown this year.

I don't know if he'll be a star or just a decent player, but he'll be way better than Blake. Come on.

That's your one? LOL. Big and clumsy doesn't equal tough, but if we're comparing him to his brother I'll concede him being tough.

^^^ doubt it, but a better debate is "who is the softest European player?"

A. Pau
B. Dirk
C. All European players are equally soft

For the record, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was called soft by haters back in the '80's. You have to take the "soft" comments with a massive grain of salt.
