VOTE: Who is the ideal coach?

I may be in the minority, but I believe that the polarizing opinions of Laker fans everywhere had a lot to do with Mike Brown being fired. So with that being said.. hypothetically speaking if the Laker Management were online reading the opinions of Laker fans everywhere to help gauge their decision....who would you vote for to be our new head coach?

I voted for Sloan ... it's not that I don't love Phil because I do ... I just think with the season underway Sloan could right the ship faster with his PnR and motion offense than Phil with the use of the triangle (assuming that Phil would use the triangle).

Also, I don't think Brian Shaw would even be considered ... he was passed over for Mike Brown if that tells you anything.

I have been torn between Phil and Jerry Sloan. I know Phil in recent years has played out of the triangle and will most likely do the same if he is rehired because the personnel we have here is a little different. He will utilize our roster to its fullest ability because he has a good eye for talent and is a great manager of personalities.

So I vote for Phil. My second choice if he's not available is Jerry Sloan though.

Sloan is the only good choice here ... Phil ain't coming back ( did a poor job in his last season anyways ) , Shaw is unproven and I'm still laughing at people calling Pringles D'Antoni ... it's Antoni

Sloan. He ran a combination of motion offense/P&R's/Tough Defense with Stockton and Malone for years. We have our motion offense setup with Eddie Jordan. We have our defensive coordinator in Steve Clifford. We just need Jerry to come in an do his thing.

Phil is primarily a triangle guy. If he's willing to bend a little and accept the Princeton, then he would also be worthy of consideration.

I want Phil, with Brian Shaw as Assistant Head Coach and an agreement to take over when Phil retires after #12.
Vitti uttered three words that surely applies to how Bryant made two free throws on one leg, walked off the court on his own and processed his rehabilitation plan amid the pain, frustration and tears.

i did... cause i think the pieces fit his coaching style more.. and also.. that i think its MORE farfetched that phil will come back than it is to get Sloan

For me, Phil is always the right answer. He commands respect, and he gets more out of his role players than almost any other coach I've seen. Also, in this case, his thing about not playing rookies and young players would actually be a positive, no Morris. I wouldn't mind Sloan either, but he did kind of lose his team in Utah by the end.

Phil Jackson...

then Jerry Sloan...
Nor can the Lakers get blamed for always making the right decisions over decades. At some point its not just luck or "gamble", its superior management and superior ownership.

From Pacers beat writer: MT @Mike Wells: It's understandable Brian Shaw laughed when I mentioned Laker job. Things ended ugly in LA 4 him.

Phil with Shaw as his lead assistant would be my top choice.

Sloan would be my 2nd option. Not sure why Nate isn't on the poll but that's #3.. Then Pringles.. As much as I love Shaw to take over for Phil on road games, he isn't ready to manage these kind of egos fulltime yet.. He needs a stint for a lesser team & some success on his own before guys like Kobe/Dwight/Nash will respect him.

What about JVG? Or would Dwight's experiences with SVG taint him as a coach?
