Vote your favorite Kobe Moment! pg 2 for updates! (3 vs 24)

These are 2 records that could never be broken. It will take a perfect storm for any other player in the future to score 81 points in an NBA game, or outscore another NBA team through 3 quarters. A guy like Durant or Lebron won't have audacity required to achieve such feats. It takes both otherworldly skill and otherworldly marbles.

I have to go with 62. He out scored a team through 3 quarters that went to the finals. I've never seen a player attack an entire team so relentlessly. I watch 81 and say wow ... I watch 62 and say what did they do to make him so mad.

C'mon now, 22 votes is the best we can muster? I honestly thought this would be a lively debate. I've been here for 4 years now and one argument that I've seen repeatedly is that during the Dallas 62 game Kobe was hotter than he was during the 81 game.

No one wants to support that claim?

81 because it was so special. Especially near the end of the game when he started nearing 60, then 70, and you knew he was going to end up with a stupid amount of points at the end, 55 in the second half, bringing us back from 17 pts down to the raptors at home, quite remarkable and a historical performance.
Before long, someone recognized Phil Jackson sitting in the front seat, and then the rocks began to fly. Revelers pelted the bus and shook it, mocking the Lakers at their lowest moment.

the thing is 81 points will always be remembered because it actually occurred. There is hard evidence which states he scored 81 points in a game. Don't get me wrong the 62 points is amazing but in the 81 point game he scored 55 points through 2 quarters. That's almost as impressive. If Kobe would have kept going in the Dallas game, he would have scored more than 81 in my opinion but he didn't play, so we will never know. I always think that the beating Dallas through 3 quarters by himself is overlooked by a lot of people and it should get much more credit, but 81 IS the second most scored in a basketball game ever, something that will most likely not happen again

In a great matchup between arguably Kobe's two hottest scoring performances, Kobe's 81 Point game won the last matchup 23-9.

This matchup features Kobe's amazing 6 game winners in 2010 vs. Kobe's crushing dunk on Ben Wallace. The first was a vintage performance that cemented his reputation was one of the most clutch players ever. The other was an eye opening feat of athleticism that let the entire world know Kobe was here to do some damange. Go to page 2 for a side by side comparison and vote for your favorite Kobe moment!

6 game-winning shots. No question IMO. Many "elite" players haven't recorded 6 game winning shots in their careers, and Kobe did it in ONE season.
Don't get me wrong, the dunk on Wallace was EPIC. First the crossover and then a MONSTROUS dunk over one of (if not THE) league's best defenders and stronger guys. It was very much a statement of "arrival", and it was insane.
BUT, 6 game-winners in one season is just the superior "moment" IMO.. 6 plays, some of them very incredible, that won games for the team, that solidifyied (?) our record and got us the 1st seed in the West and gave us homecourt advantage, which turned out to be HUGE for our title run. Kobe showed once again why he was THE guy in crunch time.. Didn't matter if he was blistering hot or awfully cold, when it was time to take the last shot, the shot that decided the game, you just knew the Mamba had it.
3 of the 6 were buzzer beaters, and 3 of the 6 were 3pt shots. Insane stretch.

Alright, the dunk was awesome. Pure ownage, as they say.

But, how many players can say they hit 6 game-winning shots in their carrier -- not in one season? Not very many, right? Therefore, this video wins over the dunk.

Another interesting detail: if you closely examine most of Kobe's recent game winners... Pau is involved in most of them -- passing the ball, setting the screen etc. I feel he's sometimes underrated in this respect. He and Metta do good things in the clutch, even when they are not taking the shots. Screens, crisp passes, good defense, blocking shots; all very important things.

This is one of the easiest ones for me because I've actually never really been that impressed with that Ben Wallace dunk over him compared to a lot of other impressive Bryant dunks. So I'm definitely going with the 6 game winners in a season.

Six GW shots especially because I was at the game against the Cheat...

The last matchup ended in a landslide victory for #32 Kobe's 6 Game Winning Shots vs. #18 Kobe's Dunk on Ben Wallace by a score of 16-0.

This matchup is very similar with #31 Kobe's Dunk on Spreewell vs. #13 Kobe's 65 Points vs. the Trailblazers. Will the result be the same?? Go to page 2 for a side-by-side comparison and remember to vote for your favorite play!

65 points vs Blazers, easy.
The dunk on Sprewell was CRAZY, but that game vs Portland has to be one of the 5 best games Kobe's ever played. Just sick clutch, he brought us back 3pt shot after 3pt shot.. That baseline fadeaway 3 between 2 guys, :man4: :man4:

That 65 point game was arguably Kobe's best game of his career so that was an easy choice for me.

The Minnesota dunk in the playoffs in my opinion is much better even though he's basically doing the same dunk. Only the T-Wolves baseline dunk was over Garnett and 2 other players.

Voted for the dunk on Spreewell, I know its going to lose, but that dunk was so nasty, combined with the commentary just makes it one of my favourite duns ever.

easily kobe 65p vs portland...that turnaround corner 3 over 2 player will be stuck in my mind forever...
i just looked at highlights...every kobe basket was spectacular...some very good or allstar players would need whole season or more to colect so many awesome baskets...and kobe did it all in one game...

The dunk against Spree was great but what I remember most about that game was the way the crowd and the commentators (Harlan, John Thompson, and Ainge) were ohhing/ahhing at the shots Kobe was making. With that said, 65 against the Blazers is my pick. We should have lost that game and he put the team on his back once again. I think the tight rope fading 3 from the left wing over Zach to tie the game gets overlooked but that's easy to do compared to the corner spinning contested 3.

In a terrible voting total of 7-2, #13 Kobe's 65 vs. the Blazers beat #31 Kobe's Dunk on Spreewell.

The weekend matchup is #25 Kobe's All-Star Game MVP in LA vs. #19 Kobe's Dunk on Dwight Howard. Which moment is greater? Baptizing the NBA's newest Big Man? Or winning the All-Star game contest in Los Angeles? Go to page 2 for side-by-side video comparisons! And PLEASE vote for your favorite play!

The dunk on Howard is one of my favorites. That's how you welcome someone to the NBA. Epic.
But I voted for All-star game MVP. His fourth, tied for most in NBA history. Called old, on the decline, placed 7th on BSPN's players rank, he went out against the league's top players, in front of his fans, and put on a show. Couple of awesome plays, ended up with 37 & 14, shooting a high %.

Why are all of the "moments" either a high scoring game or a dunk?...... is that all we remember Kobe for?...

WTS.... his 62 in 3 quarters is the most impressive scoring outburst I've ever seen and the dunk over Yao was pretty impressive as well..... :man10:

I don't know Roos, this was the list I put together and I asked around plenty. If there were other moments, I gave people a good week or two to give me what they wanted.
