Vote your favorite Kobe Moment! pg 2 for updates! (3 vs 24)

In light repetitive discussions about Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash, and our bench woes I am organizing another voting competition!

Last time we voted on the best Laker moment in the modern era (I believe we went back to 2000). This time I'm letting you decide which competition would be the most fun! Vote amongst these 3 topics and I will begin accumulating subjects on which to vote.

1. Best Kobe Bryant Moment, Game, Series, or stretch. (these may overlap, for instance if you loved his 4 straight 40 point games this season, but loved one specific game more than the others then both can be a subject in the tournament.)

2. Best Laker Dunk of All Time*. (obviously we must cover within the ability to see or at least account for a dunk. For example, It would be difficult to include Wilt)

3. Best Laker Player Whose Jersey is NOT Retired. (Included would be guys like Cooper, Wilkes, Fox, Fisher, Horry, etc.)


Here are your choices! The polls will close on Saturday so that I have Sunday to begin to set up the tournament. For those of you who weren't around or don't remember, I will use your help to accumulate a list of subjects which will be put into brackets randomly and then pitted against one another. A poll will open and you will be able to vote on which one you like best.

Why not do all three? Its a long off-season.

Robert Horry etched his name in lure mainly for his game winning shot in Game 4 against Sacramento in the 2002 Western Conference Finals, which led to the subsequent championship that crowned a 3-peat. More so because of that miss in Game 5 against San Antonio in the 2003 Western Conference Semifinals, which ended the hope of a 4-peat. The first since the 1960’s Boston Celtics.

Michael Cooper also made a game winning shot in Game 5 against Utah in the 1988 Western Conference Semifinals, which led to the subsequent championship that crowned a re-peat. The first since the 1968-1969 Boston Celtics. He also set a, then, record six 3’s in Game 2 against Boston in the 1987 NBA Finals.

Option 1. Im just going to add what my fav kobe moment was. For me, that double OT 3 pointer buzzer beater to clinch the division against Portland is Kobe's greatest shot. The degree of difficulty on that and time left made it insane. that was a shot only kobe could make, MJ didn't have that range. i don't care if it wasn't a playoff game blah blah blah. that shot when it went in made me jump out of my seats and scream like a little girl.

I am now taking suggestions for moments, games, etc. The more you give me, the longer the competition and the more fun we can have talking about it! Below is an example brought by lakerzkb8. Provide your favorites so that they can be in the tournament!

1. Kobe's 3 Point shot to Clinch the Division title in 2004.

Very underrated. Kobe shuts down T-Mac and takes over the 4th quarter leading the Lakers to a come from behind victory.


Started out the game 14-16 from the field and hit 8 threes..probably the hottest stretch I've seen him have.


Kloses out the Suns with impossible shots. Doug Collins not pleased


17 points in 6 minutes to start the 3rd quarter on very tough shots.

This really should be both of his shots. Why just the one???

It is really hard to choose a specific thing that Kobe has done to put in ONE vote. When I think of Kobe's accomplishments, so many things jump out at me:

1.) 81 Point game
2.) 62 against Mavs in 3 quarters when they had 61
3.) 2 amazing shots in Portland (2004)
4.) 61 in MSG

So taking these, I have to say for my vote are:

Game: 81 point game against Toronto (but that Mavs one is close because its so dang funny).
Moment: Shots against Portland
Stretch: Feburary 2003 where he scored 9 straight 40+ games.
