I'm really glad he's here from the intermittent flashes we've seen. He will learn from all these guys in this Band of Brothers atmosphere and already has the history of working out with Kobe. He looks like he is as or (??) maybe more athletic than Ariza was who was pretty raw when he came to the Lakers as well.

A disappointment thus far to be honest. Henry is pretty much doing all the things I thought Johnson would be able to

Mike D'Antoni told reporters that he sees Johnson as possibly playing Shawn Marion's role with the Suns.

First of all, Mike, Shawn Marion has something Wesley Johnson will never have. Basketball IQ.

Wes will be a big plus at some point. I am not sure MD knows quite what to do with him yet. I've been thinking and I'm not sure either but he is talented and built for basketball. Just a matter of time till the staff gets him in the right place. I think a good place to start would be for him to spend some time with Coop and learn how to be a defensive stopper. He would never have Coop's instincts but could still learn a lot.

Poor shot selection. Lost on defensive rotations. Unnecessarily helping and fouling.

Garbage.

^Actually, he's been getting a lot of open shots; he hit two 3's when the game was out of reach yesterday which were wide open; he needs to knock those down. He is lost on some defensive rotations; the helping and fouling is right on; although, I would like to see how many of those fouls came from defending the '4' position. He's too small and needs to play the 3 exclusively. Defend and hit the open shot should be his job. That's it. This PF crap needs to stop.

In the Clippers game, he was okay. But yesterday he was throwing shots up with 20 seconds on the shot clock. If he was a knockdown 3 point shooter, I would not be as irritated, but he's not a shooter. His midrange is alright. But he took ill-advised shots that irked me last night especially when GS was starting to pour it on. He needs to be smarter in the offense and learn to make timely plays.

His man defense isn't bad, but David Lee is too strong for him in the post, so he compensated by slapping at him. When he was guarding a 3, he was lost after being picked off, and when Jordan Hill was fine with handling JERMAINE O'NEAL, he decided he needed to help so he came over and fouled him on several occasions.

^Gotcha. I'd have to watch the game again. IMO, he doesn't understand the game or where he needs to be at most of the time. I'm going to give him some time. But I'd much rather take my chances with developing him at the Small Forward Position rather than the PF where he'll get abused nightly.

Yeah..... what's next? MDA wanting Sacre to play the Amare role with the Suns. That's more of a possibility than Johnson sniffing Marion's jock in overall value.

So is Mike D' on drugs again? How can he explain that one? Shawn Marion role? Shawn Marion was an outstanding player on both ends of the floor. He was a 15-20 point a game scorer in his prime, and that was without even trying too hard. Dude could shoot from three, put it on the floor, shoot mid-range. He makes Wes' offense look like a junior high schooler's in comparison. That's ridiculous. I like some things about Wes and I hope he gets better and we develop him some. But he'll never be anything close to an offensive option like Marion. Marion was a four time All Star.

wes doesn't think the game like marion, as others have said. I didn't mind his shot selection in the first game, despite the horrid results. the second game he took some wild shots at weird times, nick young style. you can't survive more than one player on your roster doing that.

Eh. The whole team took those shots. Hill, Henry, Farmar, etc. I'm not that worried yet.

And we on the site were saying he would try to fit that Marion role, why is D'Antoni saying it so much crazier? I agree with him. Marion may be a long shot for him, but it's the goal he should have in mind. Nothing wrong with that.

he seems like a nice hard working kid, but his game is weak, really weak.

i wish i could feel good about one aspect of his game, but he just hasn't developed enough of his game yet to be a contributor to an nba team

I think he goes after defensive boards pretty aggressively, which is a good thing.

Mike D'Antoni needs to pay this guy at the 3 spot more, period.

Cory was never a bust. he had some really bad injuries to start his career that derailed him for a while.
