Yeah I would say I am most excited about his defense. I didn't realize that he had a 7-1 wingspan. On Offense I am sure that Kobe can show him a lot more tricks of the trade and improve his game now that he's on our team.

Length, youth and athleticism... We needed all that, and we got it. With the possibility to 'test' these guys, see who has the right combination of talent, chemistry and positive attitude, and then re-sign them for the new LA Lakers next year. Mitch is doing great, IMO.

Cool, hopefully he's another Ariza/Shannon/Hill/Clark who found their niche after coming here.

i've followed this guy fantasy-wise, and to a lesser extent watching the games. guy can play. if he can get some consistency going...this will be an absolute robbery for 1 mill.

Awesome signing :jam2:

What these new guys are showing us is 1) courage and 2) a willingness to EARN their spots. 1-year deals in any sport are a big gamble. Kudos to these high character guys.

Absolutely love this signing. This is on par with the Nick Young signing. I think Young will need to play most of his minutes at SG if Kobe isn't ready to start the season. Could see us starting the season with Nash - Young - Johnson in the starting lineup.. Hopefully we finish it up with LO, Sasha, & another SF that can guard bigger stronger guys. McGuire, Young, Jones etc. Really have to hand it to the FO, they're getting good role players at great prices..

Wesley, Nick, Jordan is going to give us a serious infusion of youth, energy, speed, & shooting. I'm getting more excited about the season with each move that we make.

I don't know if anyone remembers/knows this..

BUT I'VE BEEN PUSHING FOR THIS KID FOR SO LONG! HE WAS ONE OF MY REACHES FOR THE SUMMER! I THOUGHT FOR SURE HE WAS GOING BACK TO PHOENIX AND I REFUSED TO GET MY HOPES UP!

I'M MORE EXCITED ABOUT THIS SIGNING THAN ABOUT THE TRADE FOR HOWARD LAST SEASON! But only because it's so personal for me.

I like this kid a lot. He's got some issues, but he's a super athlete, he's capable of slashing and getting to the basket, he's capable of shooting a little bit, but most importantly, he's BUILT to defend the perimeter.

I'm so incredibly excited about this pick up.

Yeah it's a nice gamble ... the jury is still not out on this kid ... could be on his way to become a consistent role player , who knows ... same with SwaggyP

Finally we have some youth and athleticism on the perimeter !

Does anyone else remember how much I wanted this kid here?? I'll find the posts if I have to! :man6: :man10:

But really though, I'm hoping for a lot out of this kid. He has a lot of potential in my eyes and I think Kobe can help his game a ton.

Sorry I only skimmed the posts in this thread. I was at a concert tonight so I missed the announcement. I'm just crazy pumped about this.

I don't think this kid is perfect, but he's got a LOT of tools and I think he also has a great attitude to go with it.

If were the Charlotte Bobcats, I'd say this was a crappy signing.

But since we're the Lakers, I'd say this was a pretty good signing.

Thank God Mitch explained that's it's not reasonable to get younger and more athletic when all we have to offer is the vet minimum.

Wow, awesome pickup... didn't think he'd sign for the min, but glad he did.
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.
