I hope for our sake that he pans out, but there's no denying that his NBA career so far has been awful.

Great job Mitch....after these few players I cant remember who Dwight Coward is anymore. Lets now bring Corey Maggette and that would be just awsome. This team with healty Kobe can make 55 wins for sure.

I agree that Corey Maggette would be a good signing because he's a big strong SF who can really muscle with the stronger SF's in the league.

My only fear is that if we do bring in Corey Maggette will Nick Young and Wesley Johnson still be able to get a ton of minutes both??? Which is what they want and in Wesley's case he needs in order to be productive like he was in the last few months for the Suns.

Nash/Blake/ Farmar
Kobe/Meeks
Young/Wes
Hill
Gasol/Kaman/Sacre
I think i didnt forgot anybody here :man3: .....with this roster we need only one PF and thats it. If you ask me i would trade Blake and Meeks for some 1st round pick next year and then sing Maggette , Odom and Sasha if we can .Then we wouldnt have these minutes problem with Young/Wes/Maggette.

I'm not sure if you're serious about the maggette signing...Are you? Cause I think he would be awful. Can't play any defense, isn't a great spot up shooter and needs the ball to be effective. I think he would be a terrible signing to be quite honest. As much as I like metta as a person, maggette would be a worse basketball version of him. If we're going old give me stephen jackson, but it looks like the chances of signing jackson are unlikely with the signing of wes.

This coming season isn't going to be a throwaway; we could be in for some exciting basketball with all of these young Thundercats playing with enthusiasm and contract-year effort. Combine that with a healthy Nash and Pau (the latter being back in his natural position), and chemistry significantly improving with Dwight's departure...man, this could be FUN.

I have a feeling D'Antoni will start showing us some lineups with 4 guards and Gasol at some point.

I honestly think Dantoni would
- start Nash Blake Kobe Pau Kaman
- bring in a bench of Farmar Meeks Young Johnson Hill

Its why I hope we get Odom to force Meeks out the rotation :man11:

I really like this pickup. Wes Johnson has a 7-1 wingspan, which makes him more like 6'9 than 6'7 defensively. He is also deceptively strong, having played center in high school. I'm sure MDA envisions him playing the Shawn Marion role like in his Phoenix days.

that wouldnt be the starting rotation,

and what have Pau shoot 3's again at the 4?

have you not watched the season last year? Pau and Kaman are both good Centers for MDAs offense. and johnson at the PF?

lol that line up is disastrous. and blake at the 2, have history taught us nothing?

More like Kaman shoot them since he has a better jumper than Pau could ever hope for :man11:

Reason in not selling him short is Corey Brewer. Everyone wrote Brewer off as a bust lotto pick by Minny. He was traded, cut, signed on with teams only to not be kept, and then he made it to Denver. Denver gave him a coach who liked to run and stuck with the KISS motto, they gave him a solid vet PG passer who ran with him on the second unit, and they encouraged him to shoot while playing him thru his mistakes. Just because he didnt pan out in Minny and only found somewhat of his potential in phoenix, shouldn't mean he won't be useful here with the right teaching and role.

So now Mitch has signed 3 guys that made about $18M combined last year for less than $6M. Can't argue with that.

What dont you like? Even though I have an idea of what you're going to say, Im sure you've seen more familiar with his game than many because of his time in Minny.

What's not to like here....Laker's are finding youth/talent at bargain prices. For Young & Johnson if one pans out great. Now they need to go get a PF. I am assuming that Kobe is coming back at SF based on the signings. I wouldn't be surprised if Blake is getting traded as well.

It really looks like the new CBA is cutting out, or at least severly shrinking, the "middle class" in the NBA.

I like the optimism but this kid hasn't shown too much so far and if he has as much potential as some here say..... why is a young athletic player like him available for the Vet Min?

There's more to the story I'd bet.

Each year his PT has declined..... he shoots 40% and last year played on a horrible team and yet still couldn't earn more playing time.

I guess for the price he seems like a good end of the bench player but if we're using him to play heavy rotational minutes at the 3 it could be problematic.

We seem to bring players in who never reached their potential only to find it here and become a pretty solid player, hopefully this remains true.

And wow, youth and athleticism on this team!
