What was Mitch thinking choosing Nash over Sessions

Nash is a liability on defense. Come on, Kirk Hinrich is going off. Kirk Hinrich! Sessions had quickness, and youth something Kobe needed in his later years, not someone other than him :bang:

sessions chose to leave because he didnt want to get traded and he couldnt take the pressure of being the starting PG. he took the same amount of money the lakers wouldve given him.

Is this a serious question? He chose one of the greatest PGs of all time, future hall of famer, proven big game and playoff performer over a guy who tightened up and disappeared in his only playoffs. And you ask why? Seriously? Think about what I just wrote. Seriously? Hindsight is convenient here and even then I have to ask seriously? Sessions doesn't play defense either.

And you think Sessions was good on defense? :man10:

Steve Nash is doing a far better job of running our offense than Sessions ever did.

Nash is 38. He knew that backcourt would be the oldest. Nash could have taken the mid level exception and came off the bench

You know I can't even get mad at the stupid threads that will be created in LD.........
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Sessions would have been a good backup. Nash is old and you can have great skills, but age, and the fatigue and loss of a step that goes with it, cannot be denied.

It just seems like the grand plan, trying to create Phoenix's success here, was flawed to begin with. The roster is wrong and the leader is old.

Not even close to the Lakers biggest mistake.

Hiring Pringles over Phil Jackson
Hiring Mike Brown
Selling draft picks for cash
Trading our youth for players 30 and over
Not signing Delonte West, Barbosa etc.
Not getting any athletic players wing players

Both Mitch and Jim Buss are overrated.

I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

hindsight is always 20/20. No one was saying this when we traded for Nash. Easy to question the decision now.

And no I didn't expect us to be this bad. No one did.

True. People always cried about Jordan Farmar and Shannon, but come one they were bench players who brought energy and weren't scared. Bringing in someone like Steve Blake has been horrible, or Jason Kapono. Lamar Odom was a great fit for this team. Selling draft picks really hurt too. The total degrading of draft picks is kicking our butt now. Still miss Ariza too.

Its not just Nash - its the sum of the parts.

All teams have weaknesses. Collectively, the team has to work together to shore up each others weaknesses...it just seems like the communication with this team is not there.

Screens were killing Nash and Clark today - flat out no help.

Frustrating to see but I hope they can right the ship soon if not, this season will go down in basketball infamy.
