Whats up with those Black Jersey's?

Hey, every since last season I've seen more and more of those Black Jersey's around. The Lakers(as far as I know) have never worn those colors. Does anyone know where they came from and why?

There are two types of the Black ones ur talkin about... There's a replica one that's called a Bside jersey made by reebok, and the other is a swingman jersey made by nike. The Bside ones are just replicas of the nba authentics with away colors. The swingman ones were made as a past design with the new players names.. They were made because it was a neat idea to have the logos from the past with the players of today.

Right, the leauge has gone extremely "retro" this year. Look how almost every team wore throwback jerseys this year (and some last year).

Just for money, something new. I love the retro black ones... There sick.

Yea... a few years back the Lakers wore the baby blue ones vs the wolves... They're bringin back the retro look, and I'm luvin that... Throwbacks sell and the ones that Nike and Reebok made for the teams to support and wear durin the commemorative games, sell alot too.. Mah homie has an authentic throwback of the Royals with Bibby on tha back... It's the one that they wore durin a game... Even though I hate the Kings, it's nice lookin!

YUCK!!! The throwback Royal jerseys were nothing but ugly, in fact... Check out what I found in the dictionary:

So you're saying that the Black Jersey's are a retro thing? I don't remember the Lakers ever wearing Black uniforms. they wore the Baby Blue in Minnesota. Hummm. They look good but I just don't recall the Team ever wearing those colors.

I think the black Unis are alternate road jerseys...Dunno for sure. I hope they do break them in next season by wearing them..

Even though the black jerseys are different and brings a refreshing look, I still don't like it. I love the purple road and home gold, and accept the white home. I'm old school, stay with the originals.

the way I see it, there is no harm in variety during the regular season. As long as they play most of their games in the regular uniforms, does it matter if they happen to also switch it up now and then? I think it is good to get a new look here and there, makes a lesser game more visually stimulating...

The one that Kobe has on in that wallpaper is a swingman one.. The Lakers never EVER wore black jersey's so therefore they're not available in authentics. Those retro jersey's do look nice tho, and if the Lakers do wear them, then that's a plus, cuz they're be available in authentics.

The Black Jersey's are nice but I'm so use to seeing the Lakers in Purple and Gold that it even seemed strange when they started wearing the White jersey's on Sunday home games. I guess I could get use to the Black Uni's if they decide to start wearing them though. I was just wondering how they came about though. Since they have the name of the Lakers franchise and the players they have to be Officially Licensed by the NBA. But since the Lakers have never worn Black Jersey's I just wondered how anyone got the idea to make a Lakers Jersey in those colors.

Somebody in the marketing line thought it would be cool to show the Lakers in different colors hence there are the black jerseys.

I guess you guys haven't all had the chance to see the black alternate jerseys?! They have the exact same look as the current jerseys now, expect that they are black and gold, w/ no purple. THEY ARE TIGHT!!!! I'm not too fond of the swingman jersey that Laker Dynasty 2000 showed us because of the text, but the alternate road black jerseys are really nice. Kind of like how the BULLS had the traditional red ones, but then alternated them w/ the black?? Its very similar. I VOTE FOR THE BLACK ONES on the road at least on Sundays.

They aren't authentic which means the Lakers never wore them... They just came out with the old logo on the jersey's with Lakers players.. U can get them at Eastbay... Looook

This is the Nike Rewind Swingman version

This is the Reebok B-Side Alternate jersey

The Nike Rewind Swingman, has sewn on tackle twill names and numbers, and the Reebok B-Side one has screen printed names and numbers.

I actually like the yellow nike rewind lakers jerseys. they looked really nice and had the classic colors but old school writing. those are tight. here's a picture of them
