I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

It takes 9 months according to the doc to regain strength/athletecism fully. But truthfully, he also needs a full summer to get into the shape he has always been in, my guess is next season.

A herniated disk is serious as I experienced it myself. D12 could have a burning nerve going all the way down to his leg from the lower back. If you feel a twitch or an inkling of it you are not gonna give 100%. Ask others who had this, its the worst pain by far (more than wisdom teeth being pulled). My physiotherapist said jumping and start/stop sports are the worst thing for it. I played college level power tennis and just now getting back to playing after 1 year of rehab.

I'm not sure a guy like Howard will ever be 100% of what he was before the injury. That's not to say he won't improve a lot from what we are seeing physically but he may never again be that athletic freak we've seen in the past again. His entire off season regime will be changed... the heavy weight lifting will be curtailed and certain lifts will be off limits is my guess having seen some College Football players go through very similar injuries.

I think perception is part of the problem with what we are seeing in Howard right now. He's in a new system.... he's not the focus of the offense..... he's with players that don't play team defense like he's used to having and even before his injuries he was never as good as a lot of people made him out to be..... that isn't to say that he's not good but to say that he was never going to come in here and be this magical force on defense that would allow the others to stand around on defense and he's never had a good post game injuries or not. He's the best Center but not at all facets of the game that's for sure.

Short of JJ and at least one other player voluntarily resigning or a ridiculous trade on the part of the Lakers, that's impossible. There's no desirable team that can nab DH in FA.

Yes, he will get back to being 100% and like his days in Orlando. Just don't know if we'll see it this year. Needs an off-season to get stronger (healthier) and work on the things that can make him better. He didn't get a chance to work on anything new this past off-season.
