Well if we want to have the slightest chance of advancing, then definitely the Spurs.

They know how to get a good regular season record only to get caught with their pants down in the playoffs.

OKC will run P&R all day with Westbrook, and the Clippers would just toy with us like they did last meeting. Memphis and Denver, yeah, we can't beat them.

At this point I just want to SEE the first round, as in be in it at all. I really don't want to seek OKC though, and b bounced by them quickly, I'd rather see the Spurs, something different for a change, I don't believe we've faced them in the playoffs since the '07/'08 season. Most likely we're a first round exit (unless Pau and Kobe's return somehow makes us suddenly and magically click), and personally I respect the Spurs and wouldn't feel embarrassed losing to them like I would the Clippers.

Memphis followed by SAS followed by the Clippers/Nuggets. Last would be OKC for me. Bad matchup.

I'm gonna say memphis because they do not have any perimeter players that will KILL us...conley is not an ELITE pg like Cp3, Parker, Westbrook, and he's not even a top 10 PG like Lawson who has always killed us...so i'll take Memphis in a heartbeat and we may have to get that 6th seed to draw that match up. Also, i like the bigs match up....Marc/ZBo vs Pau/Dwight...it allows us to play our BEST lineup...i hate when we have to match up with teams when they go small...cuz then we'll have to put either Dwight or Gasol at the 5...not both in at the same time...Memphis also plays at a much slower pace....they do not have the 3 point shooters that the Spurs, Thunder, Clips and Nuggets have....overall I just prefer Memphis but I think April is going to tell us a lot about which team we match up with...we face the Spurs, Grizzlies and Clippers one more time....so that might give us some insight into who we match up with....

Grizzlies, followed by the Spurs, and then the Clippers...but that can easily change after I see the games in April....but can we make the playoffs first guys?!

i wish it could be the warriors since the lakers pretty much never lose to them

but that isn't gonna happen the way the seeding will most likely turn out

I still would like the Clips early on....we're going to have to dig deep just to make it in. As an aged group, it would be nice to not hit the road in the first round. We can play a 7 game series and still have all the players get good rest by commuting (or in Kob's case, flying) from home.

Without worrying about homecourt, the Lakers can find something to build on heading into the 2nd round and then you just may never know how it goes from there. But the best chance we have going forward is for our veteran squad to catch a break early and then when we get our 2nd wind, we just might make a push if the bball gods feel that we have suffered enough this season.

Why Memphis? They would destroy us with their bigs.

The only team I want to see is the Lakers, and hopefully they win Game 3 cause I plan on being there. :jam2:

They play slow... they don't have a blazing point guard and they aren't great offensively. The others will run us ragged.....

This. As much as I like Mike Conley, I would much rather have to deal with him in a 7-game series then the likes of Tony Parker, Ty Lawson Chris Paul, etc. In addition, this isn't a 25 year old Kobe we're talking about. He can't guard the opposing teams PG and still score 30+ points. It just isn't happening.

There is also other factors. Memphis generally plays at a slower tempo, their not as athletic as OKC, Denver, or the Clippers, and we match up with their interior, IMO. WTS...they still present a challenge, but we can beat team, IMO. No doubt in my mind.

Like I said, I just want to be IN the first round. Those thinking the playoffs are guaranteed to us now are getting ahead of themselves.

^ Was coming here to say essentially the same thing. Beggers can't be choosers. I'll take whatever team we can get. If we right the sinking ship long enough to make it to the first round without losing what's left of our roster to injuries. At this rate MDA might be lacing them up. :yikes:

ANyone think we can sign James and Rambis to a couple 10-day contracts?
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Abdul-Jabbar has been keeping in shape diving and swimming. :man1: My back up shooting guard of choice is somewhere in Ohio though...

I want to see the Clippers and Memphis in the first round. That's an exciting matchup IMO. I'm also excited to see Houston vs OKC.

I think Denver is going to walk all over GS and San Antonio will crush Dallas.
