Agreed.

I would say to start by saying no retreads (Walker, J. McCoy, Campbell). Given Payton and Malone really see doing a lot more running next season (i.e. ShowTime II) I would be looking for an athletic PF/C. I think Donnell Harvey might fit that description.

Donnell Harvey: 6-8 2200lbs, 23yrs, very athletic with long arms, active rebounder.

I would also think about at least inviting Leon Smith to training camp. It looks like he has done well on the Lakers Summer team and in fact has started every game (I think). Granted may be a head case, but has some upside. Another very active big man.

if you guys are lookin for a high flyin athletic pf/c you should look into chris andersen from the nuggets, i remember in the laker vs. nuggets games where kobe had the wrap around 180 dunk , chris 's points were comin off of putbacks and dunks. this guy can get boards offensively like nothin, though chris doesnt put up big numbers in points he makes it out with hustle and excitement.he's like a mad dog but with a way better vertical and better haircut. i remember when he made this huge dunk he came down and was givin the birdman hand signals he went back down court, i thought that was great. so if the lakers are lookin for somethin as i just described he's the guy but he's not really a center more of a 4, though i would also like to hear more about this eric chenowith guy, i hear he's a solid center with great upside.

Chris Anderson
Donnell Harvey

I would go with both those guys if you want the Lakers to run and gun!!! I have seen Anderson, he has no problem running on the breaks!!! I still dont really know about his defence.

From the looks of it Ced don't need to be fed anymore. Certainly were not gonna get a quality big man so we might want to consider Popeye Jones who will sign cheap and play hard

There are still some big men that can give us quality minutes. Sean Rooks just got signed today by the Hornets. Jason Caffey is under contract. Looks like Elden might be in Philadelphia, Brad Miller might be in a Jazz uniform, Scott Williams already signed with Phoenix again, Chris Anderson is restricted, i highly doubt we can outbid Denver for his services, and so is Drodjnak. Jelani McCoy, well we tried that already. So whose left?

Popeye Jones - good solid player, good rebounder, can shoot the mid
range jumper, but his age might be a concern.
Donnell Harvey - not that tall but extremely athletic, but Denver might
give him more than what we can offer
Cherokee Parks - can shoot the ball well, but defense is a liablity, and he
has a grip of tattoos
Robert Horry & Mark Madsen - You know they want to come back, they
could be the last hope
Gary Trent - slowed down by injuried but can still play very solid for the
Lakers, his height might be an issue
Chris Dudley - good size, good rebounder, physically is an issue, his age
is an issue, and then Hack-a-Dudley 40% FT Shooter
Kevin Willis - oldest player in the league, but gave San Antonio good
minutes and can help out in the front line
Darvin Ham - electrifying dunker, good rebounder, hustler
Corie Blount - still can rebounder, solid defender, former Laker
Vladimir Stepania - excellent rebounder, Euro player, maybe someone
who can help the Lakers on both the PF and C
Pat Burke - solid player, can shoot, but is a defensive liability
Tyrone Hill - excellent rebounder, works hard, can play both the PF &
C, but age is a concern

So who would u pick from this list? I think we should bring back Robert Horry, and if we cant do that, Tyrone Hill and Gary Trent should be at the top of the list.

I like Corie Blount...he'll know the system. Other then that, I like the energy guys...Madsen, Ty Hill, Popeye Jones...but all in all if Horry comes back for the min. sign him instantly

I THINK THE SONICS DECIDED NOT TO EXCERCIS THE OPTION ON DROBJNAK'S CONTRACT WHICH MADE HIM AN UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENT. REMEMBER GUYS IM NOT REALLY SURE BUT I THINK IM RIGHT IM NOT REALLY SURE, BUT I WOULD STILL TRY GIVIN CHRIS ANDERSEN AN OFFER SHEET OF ABOUT 1.5-2.0 MIL AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS THEN AGAIN WE COULD PACKAGE A DEAL TO GET HIM.
