This one coach for defense and one coach for offense crap needs to stop. We need a leader more than anything who will command the respect of our guys and understands basketball logic.

boo. as others have said, i would dislike this as much as i disliked the brown hiring. should've hired adelman then. now, if you can't get phil back, just let the assistants (read: kobe) coach the team, as you're pretty much abandoning any philosophy anyway. no sense throwing good money after bad. there will be a line out the door this offseason to take over a team with this much talent.

edit: i'd love jvg, but no way he coaches howard after what his brother went through with him, imo.

Lets all hope this isn't the direction we go in. Even under Potato Head our offense wasn't the problem outside of late game execution. Pringles isn't going to help us on that side of the ball at all. We'll go on a tear in the regular season & then get killed when the pace slows down.. also lets not forget that this old team with 2 7 footers can barely get down the court in 7 seconds, let alone find a shot.

I have yet to be informed of any obstacle from the Lakers' side or Phil Jackson's side that would preclude him coming back.

how could d'antoni even be a candidate if they're saying he can't coach until late december?

why waste all that time when they can just hire a better coach in sloan and bring him in asap

If we brought in D'Antoni, I'd be okay with it. His offense with this team would be... amazing.

We'd need to bring in a defensive minded coach though like MacMillan to help out.

This better happen this weekend. 4 more home games to acclamate the new coach to the team and then 12 of the next 18 are on the road. Brutal. It would be an uphill climb

I feel so sorry for GSW and Sacto this weekend. I think the Lakers are gonna run them out the building.

Could you get both? Phil as HC and D as Offensive Assistant? Would take care of everyone. Nash runs the floor, D'Antoni helps run most plays when the Triangle doesn't work out for Nash.

Exactly. I feel good for us Lakers fans because now we don't have the mixed feeling about wanting the LAkers win and lose at the same time.

The oldest candidate is the only one of the 3 that isn't walking with a cane.
