Tyreke Evans is good...but he's from the Kings. I don't know. It wouldn't feel right. If we're going to look at rookies, Brandon Jennings is by far the best so far.

The Magic would not trade Howard for him.

wow
4 pages before even cp3 was mentioned

if bron isn't a viable option and wade isn't long term enough, i'd have to go with cp3
best pg in the league right now, period.

cp3 + triangle + bynum is wrecking havoc.

yes you don't need a true point for the triangle, but having cp3 gives you SO many transition opportunities to constantly put opponents on their heels. he can also catch and shoot with the best of them.

CP3 is too ball dominant for the triangle. For a traditional pick and roll offense, sure. In the triangle, I'd go with D-will. Much better defender, 3 pt shooter, less ball dominant.

I also think D-Will is a better option.

CP3 is not disciplined enough to play in the triangle. as others have said D-Will is ideal. He has better size, and he's a much better shooter.

I'd got with CP3 over deron. He's a much better decision maker and although not as good a defender, he'd tear it up with the team we have now.
Before long, someone recognized Phil Jackson sitting in the front seat, and then the rocks began to fly. Revelers pelted the bus and shook it, mocking the Lakers at their lowest moment.

It was painful,” Lakers forward Pau Gasol(notes) said. “It is a feeling that I want to keep in my mind for every single minute that I’m out there playing them.

While CP3 is a star, Lebron and Wade are superstars. Who will be the next superstar we want to have on our team ? Durant can become a superstar, CP3 is very close but need to make his team more successful to enter the superstar category.

lol
cp3 is a world-class pg
i'm pretty sure he can learn a new offense and adjust his skills accordingly.

dwill's usage rate : 25.4
cp3's usage rate : 26.2
deron's usage rate is less than 1 pt than paul's. it's hardly a factor. in fact, it's insignificant. but if you choose to make it significant, paul's higher usage rate nets him over 10 PER pts higher than dwill.
if you want to look at last season, paul's usage rate was about 2 pts more, but again, his PER just blows dwill out of the water. and again, it is NO EFFING CONTEST who is the best pg in this league.

better 3pt shooter?
aside from one season when dwill went off, cp3 has been far more consistent and was killing it early this year before he got injured. after last season, i don't see how anyone could think dwill is still at paul's level. he has to earn that back, not just live off of a reputation he built 2 years ago.

yes dwill can play better defense, but at the end of the day, paul will net you a higher output because he's more efficient.

OJ Mayo is an undersized 2 that can't defend and will never be a superstar. Kobe even at 35 could probably still own him.

Dwight Howard is a center, we already have Andrew Bynum at that spot.

Wade is turning 28 in less than 2 months, not sure how he will hold up in his mid-30's.. my guess is that he won't be a superstar at that point.

LeBron James is pretty much the only player currently.. and the chances of him coming here is pretty much slim to none.

But seriously, why even think so far ahead? Some people on here must be dying for Kobe's downfall.

Usage rate doesn't really tell you how ball-dominant a person is. However, I will say that CP3 > D-Will. As much as I like Deron, I'd rather have CP3.

While I understand the desire to constantly maintain a world class team, it's not always possible. Look at the teams from 04-05 to early 07-08...definitely not the cream of the crop. Go back go to the mid 90's after Magic's retirement and before we got Shaq/Kobe/D-Fish - roughly 91-92 to 95-96...we weren't all that great with the Del Harris/Van Exel/Eddie Jones teams but we were young and exciting to watch - but in reality no better than a second round team. There's no doubt there will be some rebuilding years after this mini dynasty is complete. No way we just get all the good players again.

Didn't we really suck in the Mid 70's also? After Jerry West and before Magic...

They would trade Howard faster than Kobe tried to sell Shaq out to the cops.

Someone really dislikes Kobe.

Jennings and Evans has showed great potential. They're more scorers than great passers but they're only 20. I think they'll be close to top 5 players in this league by the time Kobe will retire.
