It's unbelievable but we're only half way through the season and we're basically done. Couple/few more losses in the next games and it will be official.

Seriously, at this juncture they need to get rid of D' Antoni. It's the only chance they have at all. D' Antoni without Dwight there is simply no defense at all. This guy has lost the team.

Let Bernie ride it out. It doesn't matter any more and I want no more of D' Antoni on my Lakers team.

we need ATHLETES.

athletes create turnovers, athletes recover better on D, athletes bring attention to them when they cut to the basket, athletes can get us easy buckets.

if we're keeping Mike D, let's go ahead and blow up the team and get some young guns.

otherwise, change the offense and the defense will absolutely get better.

there is no way dan tony is going to be fired. they're still paying mike brown! imagine paying 3 coaches at the same time. it's not happening

plus jim buss isn't one to swallow his pride and do something for the good of the team, as we've all seen before

I think much of this has snowballed ... it's like the Lakers don't know how to play basketball. The defense just blows and I hold MDA totally accountable. I hope the Lakers fire him and blow this mess up. This season cannot be salvaged. Trade MWP while his value is high ... trade Gasol, trade everyone not named Howard, Bryant and Nash.

Yup. This team is screwed royal and it's not going to get any better any time soon. Way too many things have aligned to go wrong this season and into future seasons. This season looked great on paper, with all the talent and such, but when a gamble like that fails, you're really not left with many options. Lakers facing the lottery and they've traded away so many picks that they won't benefit from it. Journeymen like Jamison or Meeks aren't worth much in trade value. Nash and Kobe are getting older in a bad way. Pau is too. Dwight becoming a free agent.

We very well might be at the start of a dark few years of Lakers basketball.

The updated thread title says it all, what can you even say anymore? I'd love to see 'Antoni fired, even if Bernie takes over and we just keep losing, so I don't have to see his stupid face and hear his stupid answers. I'd rather listen to Bernie's comments, at least he was funny.

They don't have to pay for a new coach until next season. Who cares how much it costs? If they want to have a good product for that 2-5 billion dollar TV deal they need a coach who can provide that. They went relatively cheap with D' Antoni. You get what you pay for.

I think even some euro teams could be lakers...absolutely no heart and no pride...
We got outrebounded badly...i can under stand it litle bit couse dwight got injured again...but mem won every 50/50 ball...its like we are playing against ourself...we make more mistakes by ourself than our oponets force us...its like we are trying to lose...and we wasted all our excuses...we are now at the bottom of the league why paying so much money...sad sad year in the lakerland...

like I said, I enjoyed the watching those jones/van exel team better even though we were losing, at least it was entertaining and you saw all out effort from mostly everyone even if they weren't as talented as this team.
