WMC 12/13: Mercy kill. (0-4)

also i think MDA deserves some blame tonight too. that buffoonish sub with about 6-7 left in the 4th killed us. our bench was doing fine and building the lead.

Everyone on the team's effort, from Kobe's D to Dwight's FT's to Pau's softness to MDA not having a rotation that gives the bench it's identity.

This team is just too old on the perimeter ... you add a slow 4 and you can't defend in today's league

This isn't fixable ... well only by trading half of the roster

Just horrible.

One game under 500 and we've had all these home games? What's going to happen when we go out on the road?

At this point, we're worse than the Smush Parker era teams right now. What makes it worse is the talent level we have. Unfortunately talent doesn't equate to being good.

At this rate we'll be lucky to be an eight seed and the most likely outcome for this season is the lottery. :bang:

Ugh! Still can't get over .500! This is the most bipolar team yet! Not even gonna whine about Howard's FTs. That's just something we'll have to deal with over the course of the season. What I will WMC about is not seeing Meeks on the floor when we really could have used his shooting, the lack of effort on the defensive end, and just generally playing with a lack of heart. And for god's sake can we get two good games in a row! Is that too much to ask from this team. :bang: :bang: :bang:

Until I see otherwise, this team is awaiting a first round exit in the playoffs. I am NOT judging them on paper talent anymore. THIS IS A BELOW .500 TEAM PEOPLE!! All championship aspirations have gone with this loss, until they start playing ON BOTH ENDS like they want to win a championship. Its really pathetic watching this team. If they continue down this path, they might go down as the most embarrassing star studded team in the history of the nba.

Its sad. And hard sticking up for them. I feel sorry for all the analysts who picked this team to be dominant based on their paper talent. They must be getting BLASTED right now. Mark Cuban and Bill Simmons must be ecstatic. Lol wow. Congratulations, we're the laughingstock of the nba...

Defense? Hello
36 pts given up in the final 8 minutes to finish the game. That's a 216 PPG Average! Even Westhead would pause at that number.

At 8-9, Lakers now play seven of its next eight on the road. Not the toughest opponents, but this could be a revealing trip

This could get seriously bad.
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.

My biggest complaint is reactionary posts on here.

As for the team:
Kobe played too much.
Dwight played too much.
Dwight should be removed in crunch time until he proves a remotely reliable FT shooter.
Hack-a-Dwight killed any passion/activity we had.
Our bench didn't play enough.

Hopefully they either go 7-0 or 0-7 on those road games. Either they man up and start winning or just reveal how bad they are so we can stop wondering when this team will get it together.

Kobe didn't get guys involved early. pretty much has to force shots up just to get a look. Then down the stretch you couldn't go to anyone and Kobe went 1v5 without passing once.

also bad rotations tonight. thought Meeks should have gotten way more minutes. he drills a 3 to put us up 7 in the 4th and then gets benched and we end up down by one instantly. I thought you keep him in and best case he hits more 3's worst case he opens up more room for Dwight.

Ebanks wasn't terrible and did okay just didn't want him taking Meeks mins. rather have Kobe at 3 with Meeks at 2 than Ebanks at 3. only play Ebanks when Kobe is not in.

it was just no energy on both ends and Kobe taking it upon himself too early and the ball never moved at all for the rest of the game. he also played terrible sagging lazy jogging around d all game

I honestly think we need a trade at this point. Something about this team is seriously flawed... 40 points to the Magic, at home, in the 4th quarter... really guys? :bang:

He didn't shoot until 5 or 7 minutes left in the first. He had three assists and seven passes in the first quarter.

The team died when Howard started the parade to the FT line.

There is no excuse losing to a team like the Magic with the talent we have. Under .500 is pathetic and the team needs to wake up.
