16 from Jodie, 17/9 from Hill, 15-28 from 3, 15-18 FT, 29 assists on 40 FGs

Honestly when you lose a game with that kind of offensive production you need to stop and look at your team and try to understand why they can't seem to give the same kind of effort on defense

The Lakers have been ranked okay on defense for most of the season so to all of a sudden give up 117 points at home to the fricken Jazz, you have to literally stop trying on defense.

i hear you. i really didn't expect it to get this bad, even with the injuries. utah's a freaking terrible road team, and they just walked all over the lakers, pretty much from the opening tip. if you can't beat utah at home after you just dropped two of three on the road, you've either got no head or got no heart. seems to be the latter with this team, and that's hard to watch.

someone can call me if and when they decide to match their opponents' enthusiasm.

We suck, it's baffling and saddening. I don't even know if Nash can fix this, because it's defense not offense. Maybe Phil Jackson is not a great defensive coach, yes he had teams with us that were terrible there, but he at least knows to slow a game down as a defensive strategy, rather than try and outshoot teams.

ENERGY DEFENSE AND TURNOVERS.

the effort just wasn't there from the start and was there for probably a total of 4 minutes the whole game. Nash should help turnovers IMO. the offense isn't gunna be much better than 53% from 3 so Nash will help limit turnovers. BUT I really think this team needs to play with some fire and desire and play D. We get points but immediately give up points.

A professional athlete paid millions NEEDS to come out with energy and hustle for 48 mins. no excuse. Do your job. in the real world you get fired if you don't

WMC:

Defense. Every time we had a chance to take back the lead, we gave up an easy basket. That was extremely frustrating to watch especially during the 3rd.

Yeah, forcing turnovers is a very underrated stat. Since we lost Ariza, we've been seemingly forcing less and less turnovers, and the games just seem harder and harder to win.

Not that Ariza would have solved all our problems; we just don't make a concerted effort to play pesky defense. Well, guess it's hard when you don't get the calls, but oh well, whatever.

2nd quarter woes... again.

Seems like we win 3 out of 4 quarters the last few games. That one quarter we don't win is just insurmountable.

Im so pissed off right now we're doing well on offense, bench is been amazing, 3 point shooting rock solid, offense overall most of the key players have been productive...the defense is non extent. Kobe is not playing D, Howard is not rebounding well (we let Jazz rebound 42 of their damn misses). Ron didn't bring any intensity. Its not like they're making the wrong rotations and there is miscommunication, there is NO communication, theres no cohesiveness on that end of the floor.

I still have hope in this team if you can score as much as we do we'll be fine but they're pissing me off that they're not buckling down and getting the stops when they needed to. A rebound when they need to.

Add in Morris' 17 minutes of nothing on offense.....

That's 81 minutes of awful play in the reb/steal/block/offensive categories respectively.

WOW...kobe and MWP combined for 0 rebounds combined. That is eye opening. Those dudes combined to average 10 a game I believe and they didnt grab 1

It's almost too hard to believe it but last years Mike brown ball club went 26-7 at home and in 09 and 10 we went 36-5 and 34-7 respectively.

We're on pace to go 22-19 at home this season even with an easy schedule. Utter garbage
