I think if pau is having a bad game like tonight then MWP should play the 4, Kobe the 3, and Meeks the 2. I thought tonight since Jamison didnt get a minutes of playing time when he should then thats the unit with Dwight that should have been out there. Either that unit OR Hill subbing in for Pau.

It should depend on how players are playing and earning their minutes. tonight i thought Meeks and especially Hill earned their minutes and one of them should have finished the game. imo it should have been nash/kobe/mwp/hill/dwight.

dwight and pau both were bad but were trying to get dwight to resign with us...you play him and hill instead of pau

Yeah, guys like Jarrett Jack and Nick Young got about 40 minutes when they were torching us. But last night, Nick Young was cold, so he only played 14.

Smart to go with the hot hand. Can't just play a guy on a roll for only 20 minutes because that's his season average. Hill should have had 40 minutes.

Hill can't play big minutes because Pau will sulk about it on the bench. I'm willing to bet Jamison isn't playing partly because it would decrease Pau's minutes and we've already seen twice this season, when Pau doesn't get the minutes he wants..... :man6:

guys who get paid 20 mill a year vs guys who get paid 3 mill and 1.4 mill. guys should have to earn their $ like most people in the world. i honestly dont think anyone should have gotten paid for that game. pathetic effort by players and coaches who didnt seem to do anything for 48 mins. i didnt see any changes from the 1st quarter to the end of the 4th.

In terms of earning, the least they could do is have the players earn their minutes. For most players, minutes speak more (at least short term) than money.

Hill and Meeks should have played more instead of Dwight and Pau. Too bad our coach isn't letting them "earn" their minutes. :man5:

Like one poster pointed out, D'Antoni is acting like a High School coach riding star players.

The main recurring theme is energy and defense. And while Jamison won't help in the defense department much (other than forcing the opposing team to guard him more), Pau isn't helping much, either.

I just find it so weird that Jamison started out on D'Antoni's A-list when he came in, and now he can't play either in game or in garbage time. Is he even allowed at our practices or something???

Horrible game to watch. Our bigs couldn't do s***, specifically Pau and Howard. They looked like garbage.

Our team tried to turn it on at the end of the game, but couldn't do it. Too old.

Nash is forced to pass by ballhog kobe asking for the ball every single time down the court, dwight gets a putback dunk with aggressiveness in his eyes and kobe shoots a contested 3 in the next possession, kobe needs to learn how to play some damn team ball.

Also free throws, not completely kobes fault since everyone else missed, but out of all the players that missed, kobe has the most fault because he usually makes them and he's been in a slump that is getting very annoying, practice your free throws if you're not making them.

We can't play D for s***. The moment Howard goes to the bench it goes from bad to absolutly pathetic. At this point i would bring JVG from the retirement, our O sucks anyways (at least most of the time).

Dwight and Pau had probbly the worst game of their seasons and we lost by 4. I cant believe we lost to hte friggin sixers though but Dwight and Pau cant look any worse than they did last night

So this team is "old" yet the Knicks have Marcus Camby, Rasheed Wallace, Jason Kidd and Kurt Thomas....and they're a #2 seed.

Knicks are 3-5 since mid December. Look for the losses to pile up now that Felton (their young PG) is out for a while and J-Kidd will be manning the point

They also have Chandler, Melo, JR Smith and Felton. Those oldies outside of Kidd almost never play.

I want to throw things or hit someone when I see Morris starting, makes me want to scratch my eyes out a bit sometimes. This is y I wonder y people accept ugly win and say a win is a win, that to me is more to do with the other team beating themselves rather then our team beating them with superior play, their bad habits consistently carry over to the next gm more often then not.

This game was a microcosm of our whole season, and the performance of our best players.

Pau played like a shell of himself and could not assert himself at all.
Dwight was going at half speed due to back problems, looking nothing like the dominant force of years past.
Kobe is looking more like Carmelo Anthony than the Kobe we've seen in the past. He can't do anything but score at this point.

Our 3 best players, guys making a combined $65 million, are essentially playing the worst basketball of their careers. When your best players are playing this poorly over an entire season, you're not going to win that many games. This with all the other issues (coaching issues, bad defense, poor shot selection, injuries, etc) is what we're dealing with.

If we had Orlando Dwight, Kobe from 2007 and Pau from 2009, this team would own the league, but they're all nowhere near that level right now and I doubt if we'll see that this season. If they can't play at the level they're capable of, then not only will this team not win the championship, we won't even make the playoffs.

We play well offensively, we win. We don't we lose. Our defense has been consistently terrible.

Same feeling I get. Kobe can still do more than score but it's like he chooses not to. He's cool with putting up 25 shots every night. Efficient or not, I don't think that kind of basketball is good for a team unless you're surrounded by scrubs.

This season is just the 2004-05 season revisited, except we have a much better roster this year. Dumb management decision on coaching. Soooooo, Kobe loses another year and will be overplayed by the coach again.

And, why does Dantoni not have his own coaching staff? That should be a clue right there that management is not fully committed to this coaching move and having success this year.

D12 should not re-sign with the Lakers. Go to a more competently run team.
