To me, we still have a better chance of winning with Kobe as our #1. If we could get a young player who can create a shot for himself and defend, and fill our roster out with other young, 2-way pieces, I think we do better.

You are correct about Dwight and ORL, but it's not working here. He can't create his own shot. We need a trade for a 2-way, young, shot-creating player.

In today's game a team with a center as the leading offensive player won't win a championship. At best a very good center is a complementary scorer. Howard has so many holes in his game that he will have issues being consistently effective. This is more or less what he's done in his career... Big offensive game....a couple less than average ons...big one again and so on. The position, the way defenses are allowed to play and the quality of wing players have all but ended the era of the big man.

So much for that "new" season.

Sorry bro. Didn't mean it that way. Who knows where we would be had we added West when Blake and Nash went down? Or if we added Pietrus early to run with the bench unit. Or if we added Kenyon when Hill, Gasol, and Dwight were out? Or had we traded Gasol when we hired MDA - since it should have been obvious to all that it wouldn't work with Gasol declining and being even softer and MDA having no ability to adjust his "system." Would we have won 3 to 7 more games? I think so. But.....

Anyway. I have to aspirations for this team at all this year. Wouldn't be suprised is Nash retires and Dwight leaves, frankly. It is obvioulsy not fun or inspiring to play on this team, with Kobe, and for this coaching staff and FO.

This team has been pathetic with injuries and without. they play with no heart effort or care. you need to make chemistry it doesn't just happen. I don't care that the starters have only played 11 games together...all star games have better defense and our starting lineup practically is one. it's just pathetic. calling the season now IMO....they're not making the playoffs bc as the season goes on and we continue to lose Kobe is gunna keep going more and more into chuck iso mode and not run the offense or care about defense which trickles down to the team. Dwight needs to man up and stop doing stupid things and play the right way. who cares...just play with heart and effort

Kobe is only Top 10 player in the league now. Leading in scoring is just because he takes much more shots than others. Now he is a missing shot and turnover machine. In this team, looks like no players, no coaches and even no bosses can stop Kobe shooting the ball. If we really want to build this team around D12 in the future, it's time to think about how to trade Kobe in a better way once we can.

obviously not true. solid player who has averaged 18ppg his entire career even with his age. not the worst player in the league. d is bad but has always managed to be productive and help teams win. hasnt found his role yet with this team and minutes thanks to dantoni. 6th man of the year isnt one of the worst players in the league.

It's all good.... I just think our problems go a little deeper than adding a couple players no one in the league wants for longer than 1/2 a season..... these guys are just short of being nuts.... both of them. If we are at that point it's already over......

right because what someone did in the league 10 years ago matters today.

He can't make a jump shot consistently and is a top 10 worst defender in the league. Playing well once every 15 games doesn't mean anything. He's a garbage basketball player

But playing West over Duhon and Morris. And Pietrus over Ebanks and Morris -- are big upgrades. We lost a bunch of games that were close, and when teams went on huge runs against our D-League line up of Sacre, Ebanks, Morris, Duhon and Clark. YES - a few vets would have made differences in those runs and a few (3-5) more wins for us.

failure after failure with this team.............I had better time watching the jones/van excel/ceballos lead team.

The worst thing about all this is that we don't even have our 2013 draft pick. Do someone knows if our 2013 pick is someway protected ?

that pick is worthless. No great impact players in next year's draft. Its a weak weak draft.

thats probably the mentality our FO has had over the years, we haven't developed one good draft pick since Bynum.....its either trade or just sign the 2nd rders if they show any signs of talent or not much at all as long as they're a warm body for the bench.

its a carryover from Phil's years. Mitch likes Phil and hence got the vets that Phil likes...Barnes and Blake come to mind and uhh Theo Ratliff lol. Phil loved vets remember he had oldazz guys like Mitch Richmond, JR Rider, Glen Rice, John Salley, AC Green, Ron Harper, etc on the team. We won rings with the help of these guys providing leadership and some on court stability as rotation players. THe league has changed we cant get away with oldazz players like this thats why Blake got a nice 4 yrs deal. This was a team built in 2011 for Phil's triangle primarily and we were kind of late to join the party of the new NBA...the NBA that D'Antoni ushered in with shooters and atheltes and multi dimensional guards and forwards running up and down the floor. Our problem is we have too many 1 dimensional guys and not enough 2 way guys. Rest of the league does and theyre younger

What's the difference between the before Bynum Lakers and the post Bynum Lakers?

Contending teams rarely draft major impact players and when they do it is total luck. The only reason we had an opportunity to draft a player the caliber of Bynum is because we sucked arse for years.

rarely? Even Bos managed to get decent contributors like Bradley and nowSullinger. OKC managed to get Jones III. Mia added Coles who is decent enough and they actually traded up to get him unlike us who sell or trade the pick as soon as we get them. I'm not expecting Bynum type calibre player every year but dam can we can something from the draft thats not like the last pick of the draft?

It's all "good". We'll be out of the Playoff picture soon and i will finally go on with my life. No more sleepless nights and walking around pissed at everything and everybody. I invest way to much in this team
