I agree in that MDA needs to be gone... Honestly, we're what 22-42? I don't think MDA gets any credit in this game. Jodie had a great game, R Kelly, Blazemore came in the clutch. I credit the players in this one.

So which is it?...... MDA sucked in getting the team motivated for the Clippers massacre or did he make the right moves today in the OKC surprise?....... :man10:

I say "c" neither...... :man10:

If he gets "credit" for all those loses, then he gets credit for the wins. That's how this works. The truth is -- there is very little he can do at this point. We have a bunch of young, enthusiastic, but unproven and inconsistent players. Sometimes they get hot -- and sometimes they are really bad.

^^ Just watch, our game against them will be a trap game where they don't take us seriously (Portland anyone) and our small ball lineup suddenly gets red hot, shooting over 50% on threes for the W that saves Antoni's job.

:man10:

:man10: Sadly, I called this one. Just watch it'll be part of the rationale for MDA to get another shot again next year.

^^^You forgot that the Clips legitimately hold court now.

What's next? I'm not a biblical buff, but its Armageddon, right? Or is it Judgement Day? Either way, if not Phil, I'm looking forward to hanging with Bruce or Arny (yeah, we tight like that!)

Ryan Kelly gets an unnecessary hard foul last night from KD, 2 seconds later KD picks up another unnecessary foul on Kelly......

I was waiting all damn night for the team to foul KD or RW to make a point that we might suck, but we aren't going to get punked.

Nope. Nothing. Just a bunch of players trying to have fun and get paid next season.

Makes me miss the days with Fish, Fox and the boys. Good or bad, never afraid to go toe to toe with the opponent. We show none of those qualities as a team and it's part of the reason why we continually give up 130 points and let teams drag their a** like a dog on the carpet all over us.

^^^^^So true! And you knew they were going to come hard at us, but we let them punk us. Westbrook even took it to the presser after the game when he addressed Meeks.

I recall JO confronting Griffin after the Suns-Clips game...but then they shook it out. Pair this with the Marshall-Young incident from earlier this year (also against the Suns).

Speaking of the Suns...they lose their best player in Bledsoe, are currently on the outside looking in...but they're still right there and could make the playoffs....with a rookie coach nonetheless. That should be us! Show some fight!

But this is what happens when you get a bunch of 1 year deals together and pair it with a team identity that they personally don't believe in or doesn't hold any merit whatsoever in this league. And here the Lakers are, pondering on whether to bring it back with a 4M price tag.....talking about being worried of their coaching instability. Um, I'm pretty sure the entire league knows that our co-owner in Jeanie Buss is about to get married to a 13 time champion and yet the number 2 comes to mind as he packs up for NY...lets talk about that instability.

On a brighter note...out of all the players on this roster (sans Kobe), I think Kelly is probably the only one that is a sure-fire keeper. I guess Jimmy/Chaz can be proud of that....or was it the Logo's kid that made that pick?

With last night's loss, the Lakers became the first team to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs this season

How do you follow up a historically bad loss? The only way this team knows how - more of the same.

I also remember hearing a stat from I think Stu and Bill last night where in the last 5-6 games the Lakers have given up the most points in those games than any team has in the last 20 years :man4:

What a damn shame this season has been. Only 15 more games...... and then the big day will be what we can look forward to or get nervous about....May 20th

So it looks like the league has adjusted to Marshall….. his last 10 to 12 games have been a downward slide. It seems that the video is out there and he's not that hard to defend after all.

If the kid could shoot it would go a long way in helping him but with the lack of athleticism at that position you have to be fundamentally superior and he isn't. Oh well…. thought we may have had a diamond in the rough but it's clear that Farmar is by far our best overall 1 currently.

eh, marshall will get a chance to re-adjust, and I think he's smart enough to figure it out. I never expected more than a backup pg anyway, and he's on a minimum deal, which is pretty important.

as for dantoni, I've never been a fan. thought he was overrated in phx. he needs to be let go, but not because of this year...because of last year, where he contributed to the dissolution of the lakers as we knew them. phil Jackson would have lost 50 games with this team, imo.

Adjustment and counter adjustment. Its the eb and flow of the NBA. Don't count him out yet. He's young and I dont know where you're getting that he can't shoot. He clearly can shoot very well, he just needs to add more types of shot to his arsenal. This is the kind of thing he needs to add during the summer.

I'm more interested to see if he as the work ethic to add to his game over the summer.

Well... I should have been more accurate..... He can shoot that glacial set shot pretty well...... Creating a shot for himself off the dribble or pulling up isn't there and I'm not sure it's a summer away either.

He's not that quick or fast at a position that typically has the quickest and fastest players around. I think he can stick but not as a starter.

WMC: That dirty move by Gooden and the BS ejection by Hill. He never threw a punch and he clearly grabbed Gortat to get him off of Nick. If Gortat didn't get ejected too then Hill should not have been. Hell Nick should of been ejected before Hill was.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Gooden is dirty , Gortat wants to fight ( not with Jordan though ) ... my complaint is why didn't they do us a favor by targeting Nash ?
