I had feeling that Hornet late 4qtr collaspe was a sign to come for this game, all I could do was laugh when it happened again last nite

Poor guys. They have a coach whose game plan failed. So they resort to running the offense themselves and see better results. But this is the NBA and teams adjust. We live and die by the 3.

I wonder if the Lakers come out of this road-trip with a bad record, if the Lakers decide to shut down Howard for the year, knowing that the season is over? because if you want Howard leading this franchise for the next 5-6 years you better treat him like one or else he's just gonna be another Sam Bowie with all these injuries.

Another Sam Bowie? Dramatic much? The guy doesn't have a broken leg, he has a torn labrum, he's been playing through it. Aside from his back and this shoulder injury he has no history of injury, let's not exaggerate.

Yes, but by letting him play through all these injuries it's gonna hurt his health long-term.... I understand about all the pride/heart players show... even if a season is lost... but it's the right idea to shut him down.. it gives him time to rehab his back and make it stronger and can have a longer idea.. rather or not he needs shoulder surgery..

It's up to Dwight whether he wants surgery or not, if he feels he needs it he should go for it. Kobe has played through the same injury though, so has Lamar, so it's really up to the individual.

Must win game today at Minny. Hope we pull it off. We cant afford more than 10 losses the rest of the year. Dont care how we win and what it takes.

I hate this team. I hate them. They don't play through adversity, they don't have heart and passion, they don't have any cohesion.

It was going to be hard enough to build chemistry without injuries and with the same coach all season long. We got neither of those things and now our team just looks like guys in a gym playing together.

I hate it.

Still hard to deal with losing that game to the Suns, Lakers are looking better in enough aspects that this time you finally feel like they could have gone on a solid streak and given themselves a shot, but after watching how miserably they played against the T-wolves for most of the game, what's the point? seriously.

Should be on a 5 game win streak.

I'll put a positive spin on it in the optimism thread.

I started watching midway through the second quarter when we were up by 25 or so. I have no idea what happened before that, but I almost saw nothing positive about this team after that. The Wolves just ran the zone the whole game, and we had no idea how to tackle it.

My WMC:
-Settling for 3's instead of attacking that zone.
-Jodi Meeks and the random 3's. Yes, everyone shot 3's but most are off the extra pass and are open but not Meeks in teh 3rd and 4th. Didn't like that at all.
-No one talking on Defense or rotating when Pau actually did go to help.

Classic example of living and dying by the long ball tonight. They couldn't miss in the first half and ran up the score...missed a bunch in the second and Minny came back.

Why was the zone thrown at us? Isn't it supposed to encourage more jumpers (which we were making)? Well, most of our jumpers came from inside out. Either through the post via Gasol or dribble penetration from Kobe or Nash.

That zone got thrown at us and we just continued to swing the ball on the perimeter and chuck away.

Goddammit Mike...a red light needs to be enforced on the long ball. This ish worked with Minny...but try doing this with a playoff team and we get ran out the building.

This road trip is going to see us seeing lesser talent. Develop some good habits for chist's sake.

I've never been more UPSET after a WIN than I am right now...you woudl think after being up 28 you wouldn't let these guys cut it all the way to 4 pts int he 4th quarter and we're forced to play all of our starters a ton of minutes....just very disappointed in this team. The Twolves are a bad team..what happens when we play a very good team? Are we just gonna give up 20 pt leads on the regular? That suns game is still in the back of my mind...i won't get over it unless we beat Brooklyn and Miami on this trip en route to a 6-1 road trip.

Whoa whoa whoa, where did that come from, especially from the guy that runs the optimism thread? I'm with you though, I really do not like this team very much. Outside of Kobe there aren't a lot of mentally tough guys on the roster, and even Kobe is having his troubles with turnovers still, and streaky shooting.

My complaints, WAYYYYYY too many freakin 3's, this is not the formula for a championship. Also, zone defense, is it THAT hard to figure out? We have been looking for the Lakers to not be stunned and confounded by a zone defense since freaking Shaq was still here and teams would throw it at us. You'd think after almost a decade and a handful of coaches we could figure it out quicker.

I agree, a win is a win, and we not a great team so I will take every win I can get. Winning against Phoenix would have been ugly still too, but I'd take that win if I could have it in a second. We aren't going anywhere special this season IMO, not with the way we can't sustain winning streaks, can't hold leads, can't play defense well enough, but at the very least I want to see us make the playoffs and avoid embarrassment. The only thing worse than not making the playoffs would be making them and losing to the Clippers in the first round
