WMC 12/13: Mercy kill. (0-4)

We're just not a very good basketball team.

So let's recap :

Losses at home against a depleted Mavs team , Indiana , Orlando and Utah and gave the game away at Houston ...

Our team should be 14-7 which would be a decent record for a "new" team with some injuries but yeah WE SUCK

In case you guys didn't know, MWP was at 1oak in Las Vegas on Saturday night, partying it up. THats probably why he didn't play much tonight.

This team is disgusting....I hope the Lakers start offering the "money back guaranteed" program that the Suns are offering their fans....I wouldn't pay to watch these guys lose every night.

Looks like we just gotta outscore opponents. We are now the Golden State Lakers.

Almost forgot to mention this. If we hadn't been lights out at the 3 pt line tonight......we'd lose by 20+.

Sad but true.

Nash cant fix this bc they are good at offensive end but they suck on defense, and when Nash come back we will suck even more bc Nash is the worst defensive player on this team.....so please Howard go away on summer, Nash please retire, Gasol need to be traded and we need to start all over again. This is not normal when we speak about the name of the Lakers. Its just not normal

the problem is this team is OLD.

If they have to play hard and push themselves just to make the post-season they will get owned there.

Seriously, Kobe is playing 43 minutes most games now, and we STILL end up losing even when he is balling. Its becoming a hole they won't be able to dig themselves out of in time this season.

I'm very pissed because we are getting clowned around the league now. We are sure the epitome of failure this year. But Laker fans lack humility and modesty and at least it might help quite a few to understand that winning doesn't happen just because its faith, its hard work and dedication and we aren't entitled titles just because we happen to win plenty of them.

Stats are so misleading...Hill had a great night...Dwight wasn't very dominating on either end. Duhon...played solid unspectacular ball.

BTW Duhon scored 12 points on 4-5 shooting from downtown. He also dished out 11 assists and had only 2 TOs.

If you think Nash can just walk in and this team goes from complete garbage to totally awesome that's not happening. I'm aware Nash will replace Morris but it is still far-fetched to believe that we will just start winning.

Also please get rid of Blake, want no part of him. Duhon within a week is as productive as Blake's "before" or "after" the all-star break production.

Pretty much done complaining about this team, same story every loss, lack of effort on D, too many turnovers, no identity on offense. Just have to hope they figure it out and fix it in time to make the playoffs.

I'm still going to watch games, but it's hard to want to make them a priority when the team itself doesn't seem to. If there could just be a sense that this team actually gives a damn, at least we could find something to cheer for, but beyond that, it just seems like this team cannot or will not actually get on teh same page about anything. There's just too much going wrong to really itemize or analyze it all. But the lingering trait that hangs on everything is effort and unity. This team only seems to play hard when they are down double digits and even then they still take possessions off or go on a 7-0 run only to allow a 8-0 run against them immediately afterward. Then they just create unforced error after unforced error. It's not just that they have turnovers, it's the types of turnovers they have. No communication, no sense of where other players are on the floor, no intuition on their teammate's habits or play styles, as well as just simply fundamentally awful moves(just bad passes that any coach will tell you not to make).

Then as if that wasn't enough, when they start getting frustrated they just start fouling the other team more. There's like no line between clean defense and 'ugh, this sucks' hack defense.

The disturbing thing to me though is that when you look at the 9 wins, maybe only 4 of those were actually earned by being the better team, and against bad teams at that.

Frustrating to watch. The rest of the league must be loving the schadenfreude though.

God listening to Ramona Shelburne on the radio spew false information over and over is starting to get really annoying. She thinks the 03-04 Lakers got off to a bad start, first she said they were 18-20 and now she's saying they were 9-14 but still got to the Finals when what actually happened is they started 18-3. She's actually talking about the 02-03 Lakers which got booted in the 2nd round. It's kind of ridiculous that they can't fact check such simple statements.

This post is right on the money, and I agree 100%. He needs to set the tone, especially on the defensive end and he's not doing that right now.

And dumba*** Mark Willard was trying to pass it off like it was no big deal even though saying the Payton-Malone Lakers started off poorly when they actually didn't is a pretty egregious error.
