WMC 12/13: Mercy kill. (0-4)

So many problems with this team:

-The uptempo offense only works when you have athletes who can run the floor and shoot. Meeks is horrible when he has to put the ball on the floor and compounding that problem is the fact that he was 1-7 from 3pt today. Same goes for Metta.

-Horrible defense. We have players not closing in on their man (specifically Kobe) and atrocious transition defense (against the freakin' Clippers of all teams). I swear god, I can't count how many times where I saw a Clipper player shoot the ball going unchallenged. If Dwight Howard wasn't on this team, I don't even want to know how much worse our defense would be.

-No passion, no energy: this is specifically directed at Pau, but goes for pretty much the entire team. It's so sad watching a player who was the 2nd option during our championship run 2-3 years ago become irrelevant.

-No production from the reserves. Hill is our only decent player coming off of the bench and now he's injured.

We look awful. So hard to watch.

At some point the guys are just going to give up once it becomes obvious it's too late to salvage the season. Man this is just a nightmare

there's no such thing as a moral victory anymore. these are pretty much playoff games for us for the rest of the year.

That's a health thing, though. As the season progresses, he'll keep getting better. Nash-Kobe-MWP-Dwight are a solid unit... Nash-Kobe on O, and MWP-Dwight on D.

i dunno, i'm less inclined to buy that health excuse as time has been going by...guess we'll see though

i almost wish this was the condensed season, and it was only 32 games long.

Metta & Gasol only combined for 4 points. Are you kidding me?

Outside of those 6 intentional foul free throws we gave up only 14 points in the 4th Q

^IIRC, that was the quarter that Pau didn't play until D12 fouled out.

Coincidence?

Two more weeks and we are out of the playoffs picture. Not the season i was hoping for

Agreed but I don't think it matters who the coach is, the d would still be terrible.

I know Meeks shot a really bad % from the field but the dude competed like crazy in the 4th, he hit a 3, made 6 free throws got 2 stops on Chris Paul. The guy was ineffective for 3 Qs but he was trying his hardest. This is what we want from Pau that fighter attitude, Metta has that, Hill has that, Kobe has that, Nash has that, Dwight im not sure, Pau has shown he has that in the past i havent seen it in 3 years

Pau + Metta + Morris = 4 points in 72 minutes

That's hard to do even if your trying to suck

I really have nothing else to complain about...i'm just really really sad. really really disappointed..really really irritated with all these losses piling up...really really frustrated with how every team gets up and plays their best against us..i can go on, but i think i need a tissue. jesus christ, this season has been an absolute nightmare...a nightmare that just won't end.

Can we go back to the lockout?

Yeah but Meeks played too dumb for his presence to a be a + in different stretches. I just don't get why he keeps driving and attacking the basket, he NEVER finishes and sometimes gets embarrasingly blocked.. He's got that tunnel vision

Meeks failed to box out Bledsoe on several possessions down the stretch too ... let's not underrate this

meeks needs to start hitting those WIDE open 3's. otherwise why is he on the floor. i think its time for Dantoni to play Jamison more than 3 mins or play him period. AND to give Hill more minutes. I'd be fine with either starting over Pau. Let Pau be the backup 5 where he can "be used properly"

Pau or MDA. One has got to go.

before you blame kobe, just think where we'd be without him


the real issue is pau. we've seen enough of him and nash, ship his a** out ASAP
